Lacy and Pavlik are the obvious choices but Vargas was never the same after Oscar.

Hagler, from P4P king, to making B movies in Italy, all because of a close decision loss.

Here another name no one has mentioned thus far, but I think qualifies...

David Hayes - although he didn't accomplish much as a Heavyweight, he was seen as the biggest threat to the Klitschko dynasty. After his showing against Wladimir and his excuse of his little toe, not many boxing fans want to see him ever lace them up again!

    Would David Reid count?

He had eye problems, so that may exonerate him.

    How about Camacho Jr?

    Michael Grant?

    "Goofy" Mount Whitaker?

    Lacy definitely.

RJJ too ( as much as I hate to say it ).

    Tyson far more than Jones.
Tyson was considered basically unbeatable, and then suddenly people are syaing hes past prime when hes 30!

RJJ at least had reigned for years, and only started to wilt when he came back down from heavyweight to light heavy in his mid 30's.

Snakefist is right. Margarito and Jones Jr. rank pretty high in the last 15 years or so. To add to the Valero comment, Valero was actually caught with a DWI, beat his wife, killed her, and then killed himself in prison all after just 2 months prior recording his 27th KO in 27 fights, maintaining his perfect record, defending his lightweight belt for the for the third time, and dominating a game and unbeaten Antonio DeMarco in his debut for Showtime.
