I'm a fan of Winky Wright's jab. Pernell Whitaker also used it very well. At heavyweight, I'd go with Holmes.
Heavyweight: Holmes, it cant be argued, he won most, if not all of his fights off of that jab which apparantly was a hard blow. Honorable mentions, lewis, Wlad K, ali.. Crusierweight: Holyfield for me, his jab at that weight, before he got all roided up an jacked at heavy, was a thing of beauty, snappy and sharp. Light-heavyweight: Hearns. For me it was anyway, I figure the snap he still had to of had fighting several weight classes above his own best weight to keep natually much bigger men off of him must of been tremendous. Nice Jab. Hon mention, Billy Conn, especially in the louis fight, AND JONES JR, when he wanted to use it, it was great, it befuddles me today why he didnt use it more often... Middleweight: Monzon, he could of even looked a lil one paced but he had a great jab which was more of a straight left. Hagler had a solid jab aswell, and pavlik has too. Junior-middle: Terry Norris. Fast, blisteringly hard and looked great. Hon mention, Winky Wright. Welterweight: Robinson/Hearns. Its a crying shame that we have next to no footage of Robinson at welterweight, because believe it of not, we don't have any footage of a a prime Suger Ray! Stats say nearly it all in this case though, has to be said, 124-1-2 in the first 11 years of his career, simply incredible and not likely to ever be seen again. Hearns again for me, his jab was amazing, and better when he weighed a lil less! light-welterweight: maybe a little hate for this one, but I think Meldrick Taylors jab was awesome, his all over hand speed was simply dumbfounding, but if he wanted to, he could keep you right there on the end of that left hand. Lightweight: Pernell Whitaker, really good, even if it was a lil leaping with it sometimes as he got older, and it seemed, increasingly shorter!! The size difference between him an TITO was crazy! The fact that he made it competitive against him is amazing to me. And for my money, I think he jus nicked it against De La Hoya.. Junior lightweight: Not a massive fan of his cherry picking, but Floyd mayweathers jab at 130 was incredible. A weight he should of lived at for more time... Featherweights: Morales had a great jab, and Barrera had a good solid, polished jab aswell. Hon mention, Jim Driscoll, freddy welsh Salvador Sanchez. Even if he did look like an extra from that movie the warriors, he died too young. Bantamweights: The great Z-men of the 70's, aswell as Ruben Olivares, who was a come forward slugger but could open up well with the jab to set up his body work. But the best ive ever seen so far has to be Guillermo Rigondeaux, what amazingness, he is massively underappreciated, what a boxer... Hon mention, Rafeal Marquez the Flyweights: Jimmy wilde, has to be because im welsh! and benny lynch, he really was a wonder. hon mention, Dave Macauley could keep you guessing aswell..
Wlads jab keeps the opponents off because they are dead scared for the straight right that might fallow.
