First off gotta say HBO is in business with 3 of the best young stars in boxing and all 3 scored stoppages last night

Broner- I was not super impressed last night. First who the hell was that guy he was fighting. It was like when Berto was handed that bum to beat for his belt. Broner was probably the WBO 1 ranked, what was this guy the 13. I hate when vacant titles are not fought between the 1 and 2 or 1 and 3.

as far as his performance he let himself get out worked and he did get caught flush at times and if that guy had anything on his shots Broner may have been in trouble. He was too one shot at a time and should throw more combinations. Also he should never have let that guy get to his chest.

I love the power and accuracy he can end a fight with one big shot and has great timing. He could have made that fight even easier he gets a B

Russel Jr- Whats not to like, with that devastating hand speed and accuracy he can take any body out

Alvarez- funny case he gets an A plus for the the first 4 rounds. his defense was great and his handspeed and counter punching was so effective. Cintron was kept at bay. But after the 4th a Cintron who clearly had a hurt ankle rocked him before getting a bull**** stoppage. He gets a C

His handspeed and countering is so good it makes people afraid to throw like the Rhodes fight and most of the Cintron fight. He comes in without any respect for his opponents power. Cintron looked poor and Alvarez got comfortable and caught and this could be his undoing

Cintron- gets and F for the 1st 4 rounds. No desperation showed too much respect. Did not sit on his punches and went down looked to be stopped when he hurt his ankle and had a hard time getting to his corner

Then in the 5th he got desperate actually sat down on his punches and stunned Alvarez before the BS stoppage he gets a D

but why did he wait so long, if Cintron fights every fight like the 5th rounds he can regain a title he should go back to welter

I have to agree with you in the Canelo analysis.

I think the stoppage came at the wrong time. Though Cintron was loosing, he was fighting back fire with fire. He actually looked worst in the fourth round and if the stoppage had taken place then I would not have anything negative to say.

In regards to Canelo, when he gets careless, such as getting excited in anticipation of a KO, he gets hit easily. He has to learn to remain calm and precise and know how to finish his opponent with style. Broner said it best - you have to be exciting but not careless.

Canelo was used to Cintron fighting scared and not sitting on his shots then Cintron became like a wounded animal and fought harder

Canelo got over aggressive and disregarded Cintron got caught and hurt and it was a **** stoppage

By the way, Russel Jr. gets an A for putting out his opponent in 1 round - It was so quick that I missed it! Russel is definetely ready for better competition. There are too many names around his division not to make something happen soon....

Cintron was completely wrecked. The stoppage was fine. If you watch the re-play, after the stoppage Cintron can barely stand. Canelo was just the much stronger, bigger and better fighter. Cintron shouldn't feel any shame. He fought hard and tried his best.

i may be alone in this but i wouldnt be opposed to seeing Cintron get a rematch or a bigger fight

he made a switch he sat on his shots and went for it

maybe he should move back to 147
