Fighters who never reach their full potential

As noted above, Tyson and Sanchez. Salvador Sanchez is arguably the clearest example of potential never being fully reached. Whenever I watch his fights I miss him even though I wasn't even born during his era.

 

Francison Bojado. What a waste of talent.

Macho Camacho, who even though he achieved quite a bit, still wasted a lot too. Same with James Toney.

 

Thinking about it, if Kostya had fought like he did as an amatuer, and garnered the bigger fights, we'd be talking about an even greater fighter.

 

Consider it encouragement, mate:good

 

Muhammad Ali...he did reach his potential in some ways but the years that would have been his prime were robbed from him.

 

One of the biggest travesties in all sports. He was just approaching his prime in the Williams fight. Just imagine how much more amazing he would've looked in the following 3 or 4 years.

No one ever saw a prime Ali. :-(

 

On a serious note, you have to put fraudley in that category.

He has one of the shittest mentality of any pro athlete Today. At times hes shown he's capable of putting together hurtful combinations and a good jab. Not that he has the potential to be a great but he dam sure could have become better than a domestic level bumm

I also feel that whole saga drained him mentally aswel as robbing him of his athletic prime. It was a tumultuous period for him.

 

Exacltly, he could have been the GOAT.

And to think you'll get polls asking about 'prime Ali' vs 'prime Wlad' or 'prime Vitali'

 

What a waste of talent.....back when Bojado was fighting, a lot of people wanted to match him against Cotto when they were both prospects

 

I remember that...Bojado imo was more naturally gifted than Cotto, but he lacked Cotto's discipline and heart which ended up determining their future...Now one is rich, and the other is a dip**** about to get his ass deported to Mexico.atsch

My vote goes to Fernando Vargas... A lot of talent and got thrown into the lions too early in his career with Tito
