how can floyd give arum a loan when GBP themselves loaned floyd for his IRS problem? that's probably the reason why floyd always fights GBP fighters.

    Bob is full of ****.

Where in the business model of boxing do the investors happen to be included on a ****ing one time PPV? The site is handled, the merchandise isn't going to be expensive, hell the highest bidder will probably get rights and will still have to send a portion of revenue to the fighters.

So that leaves what? The press tour? Bob Arum needs outside investors for a ****ing press tour? Please. He's blowing smoke up the ass of *******s and the media.

i know. floyd doesn't want to fight away from home. when jerry jones proposed the cowboys stadium, his team instantly shut down the idea. maybe he could fight khan in england in the future.

nobody puts up $100M to see a fight happen, if the guy exists, he wants that and interest in return.

These *******s dont get this for some reason it probably has to do with a lack of education like their hero.

There's so much to figure out, so you have to sit down and see who is willing to pay the most to become part of the event. Car services, food, hotel accomodations, airlines, alcohol sponsors, ppv provider, venue......the list is endless. Promotors on paper may be worth a lot of money, but that money is tied up in other things. They likely don't have 200 million dollars in their closet just lying around.
I'm not huge fan of Arum, but he's right about this, see who is willing to put up the most money for all aspects of the fight and make as much as possible off of it.

Sponsors and investors are not the same thing:

A sponsor is a company who slaps their logo onto the posters, canvas, ring post, trunks, etc. They pay for that spot and after that they receive ZERO back from the company putting the event on. They make their money by hoping people will look at their logo, and then go out and buy one of their products.

An investor is a company or individual who doesn't generally slap their logo onto the ring, but instead gives money upfront to the promoter and in return for that money they get back a percentage of the amount of money made from the event.

Dude, track your sources. Really before you believe ****, just try to follow them back to the source, because when I smell bull****, I do. And you know where this steaming pile came from:

    BOB ARUM.

it's ironic for you guys to say that a certain group lacks education when your own hero was a drop-out.

now i haven't watched that video, i just googled it. but if someone invested $65m, and Bob or any promoter wouldn't have to shell out money, then i think that's good business for the promoter.

Nobody is putting $65 Million. Bob Arum never talked to anybody that would. And no person in their right mind would accept the offer because of how much of an ownership stake a person would want in the profits for that level of investment. That money isn't free.

And to answer your second point. That isn't money Bob would ever shell out in the first place. The site is paying to host the fight, the tickets are being sold at a complete profit, and his only goal is to cover his guarantees. Hell the advertising is practically handled by HBO and the cable providers.
