Cornered against shannon when he fought don don sultan in nowra. Don don had to retire after twisting an ankle, a fight he was losing anyway. Afterwards, shannon came over to the corner, checked on don don ( getting his ankle treated) and said "ive got a lot of respect for you".....something that a lot of filipino's also had for sultan as a fighter. He was a bit of a figure in his earlier years as a pro...he could fight and was looked up to by lots of young fighters. I guess shannon sensed the same thing, even though he won that fight quite convincingly. It was a good gesture from shannon that night and great sportsmanship as well.
Dondon beat both Egberime (a fight he was losing every round in until the Ko) and Anton Solopov, two good names to have on your resume right there
It's true that he has passed, a cocktail of drugs including coke / heroin / ecstasy was the cause of the overdose the family wanted a day of privacy and this is why it was not let out to the media. RIP
There's reports this morning he made some progress overnight and started breathing (barely) on his own. If he passed yesterday, i don't think the hospital would put themselves in a postion to lie about it.
He was not announced deceased at the scene, the 2 people he was with also overdosed but had passed by the time paramedics arrived. He was unconscious but still breathing, doctors tried to pull him back but the heroin kicked and he passed at around 10:30am yesterday.
:huh The other 2 didn't pass away mate, a report said one was doing ok after vomiting and the other in a stable but serious condition.
Are you sure mate? I may be getting some wrong information, my sources are from friends of the family who supplied me with this. If it is indeed wrong, apologies & i'll remove my posts.
