Did Wilfredo Benitez really only train for SIX days for SRL?

As Ive said before Wilfredo and brother Frankie are more or less "half ******ed"

 

I used to have lot of boxing magazines, and in one of them, they did a spread on Benitez, and it stated !) that he was mildly ******ed and 2) that he only trained for 6 days for this fight and that is was hard to get him in the gym. It was either KO or Ring, I think.

 

He performed too well for that to be remotely true.

 

never believed it. No one fights that well not training. He probably had another meaning to it. Like he only trained hard for 6 days or something. But he trained. He was in shape. The excuses like these are ridiculous when great fighters make them. Leonard beat him fair and square, but Benitez did give Leonard a tough fight. Ray couldn't even go to the post fight party he was so sore.

That doesn't mean he spent a ridiculously low total of 6 days the gym before going out and fighting evenly with Leonard before the stoppage.

the only way Wilfred would put out in training was if his crew planted a foxy lady in the gym the guy was half ******ed

If you were to say 'he had a form of autism that allowed him to master the art of boxing' I'd say, hmm, plausible.
