Latest is that shannon opened his eyes moments after being visited by his dad. He is moving his hands and is less supported by equipment....meaning doctors are asking his body to do more work.

Good news Jet , Gonzo don't be sorry about making this thread brother let's hope Shannan makes a full recovery reads these posts and it shocks him into sorting his **** out , I've lost a few mates to the horse over the years but a few have pulled themselves back from the abyss , the thing is NO ONE knows for sure what these dealing ****s are chopping the **** up with these days , keep slugging Shan . :good

Good post - the only thing I would add is that by nature, boxers are loners - it's not a team sport, despite the fact they are part of a team when in camp, it's definitely an individual sport, and the type of person that pursues such interests are usually loners and are prone to depression due to the amount of time spent alone and in their own heads.

There's also the rush of the sport - sometimes that rush is sought via other avenues.

Come on Barge....show some understanding or compassion; it is not all about one's egotistical look at one's physical being or outlook about one's physicality (body) - it is mostly about how you actually think ! It is often what your negative mental patterns present you with; worst still, these negative thoughts often impose their agenda upon you.

Depression, boxers have an incredible connection to depression- it can be your only true friend who visits you when you are lonely; it plays a big part in how you are going to think; it quickly calculates or identifies your lowest points, and then it "assists" you by representing you in your own self rescue. Usually, you "save yourself" with stupid egotistical, unbalanced recipes of drugs, alcohol, overwork, violence, purely unreasonable activity.. etc .etc. the new day comes, and you re-evaluate yourself - the cycle begins again.... Self evaluation positions your feelings of failure, your poor feelings of self worth. Your own 'challenge' finger seeks to push some dangerous panic buttons (this has worked in the past) - you hope to gain "balance" through this, mostly by curious ways of upping your own lively tempo.

I think that there is no need to judge Shannon, he has already done this a million times. If you want to evaluate Shannon, try to look upon him as a very incredible individual, almost dangerous, totally different, and one who never, ever, shied from anyone one.

I would agree with you if Shannan was an inactive or retired fighter, however he has been calling out fighters recently and was preparing for a fight with Garth Wood. This was a big opportunity for him to get his name back in the spotlight. why go to so much effort to prepare your body for a fight and then abuse it with drugs. It is like a marathon runner preparing for the olympics and a week before having a slab of VB and eating a chocolate cake. doesnt make sense.

 

They're saying a mistaken underworld hit now. But the media have been wrong alot on this incident.
