100% agree mate. Why the channel didn't become encrypted last week is beyond me! Why wait until the eve of possibly the biggest card of the year to start thins up? Makes absolute no sense. I was an avid supporter of the channel and always intended to sign up. But I'm having second thoughts now. Reeks of unprofessionalism

read this thread thinking it was going to be a nightmare, just went to sign up and had no problems, took 2mins tops. Although had to look my number up on bt website as I never use it and didnt know it.

Its only taken £10. Not really different from any other channel re 6month contract, although they could have made this point a lot clearer up until now so theres not so much confusion. Thats the easy bit done though now to see if they deliver on fights screened. Worse case scenario I've paid £50 over 6 months for average boxing, which isnt the end of the world.

Personally I think its destined to fail as they just wont get the numbers subscribing. If they land, for example, Haye Vitali, the average boxing fan is not going to sign up for 6months to just watch that, they should do it as 1month contracts, the hardcore wont cancel, the average fan might sign up for Haye then leave it seeing other cards coming up, even if they do cancel they'll have huge numbers for a couple of months a year, this 6 month contract will have loads not bothering.

I'll wait until a more established poster says they've had no issues. Only pro-PayWizard peeps so far have had under 20 posts

I dont like the fact its a 6 month contract with no guarentees od whats being televised. Not sure Rogan v skelton repeats and bunce dribbling and spitting once a week for 6 months is value for money!

I signed up last night was pretty easy TBH, only hassle is creating a login for Paywizard, got enough usernames & passwords as it is........

Once you sign up and add a card, it takes the £10 instantly, i honestly can't even see the point of paywizard, other than the fact unlike Direct Debit is no way to cancel through the bank.

What i don't like is it, has no date on when next payment is due etc... just simple stuff so you know when to put money in to keep on top.

All though im all registered up, and paid for, ive got a weird feeling this is not going to "work", but i guess i will be able to tell frm the 1st ?

Im glad i don't have to fund the account, but it's just abit uneasy how something can just dip into your account and not have the option to block it at anytime. It should state clearly we take it on 1st of each month or something.

So you have to keep going in to top up the Pay Wizard account each month to pay?

It doesn't get taken straight off your card like Paypal?

Doesn't sound to painful but as you say seems a bit pointless.

    Thanks :good

The whole PayWizard thing seems a bit amateurish for a TV Channel

What about a connecting phone line to the sky box.
Do you need to have it in all the time or just for registering.?

No it does get took off your card. You don't need to fund the paywizard account at all. It just seems like this method has been used so you can't cancel it(like you could with normal DD).

    To put it simple

    Normal method: Direct Debit>Boxnation
    There method: Paywizard>Direct Debit>Boxnation

As i say no DD shows up on my bank account, but Paywizard has access to take that sum of money each month on behalf of BN, so in a sense it is DD still, just without no option to cancel via your bank and you in a contract with PW.

It's very shady what they pulled, but once signed up you won't need PW again unless you want to cancel in 6 months time then just log on and remove the DD.

So do not fund the PW account, just put your money in your bank account as normal and PW will take it out each month.
