If that is not what makes Floyd the better fighter then why do Floyd fans keep bringing it up? I don't dispute that Floyd is the more skilled of the two, but he has never had the balls to match. Pac humiliating Hatton at his own weight and where he was universally recognized as the man shits all over anything Floyd has done in at least 4 years and I doubt anyone could seriously dispute that.

It ain't just about the skills.

This is what you need to figure out. Marquez could have made Floyd sweat those 2 lbs. He had every right to do it. He took the money instead which he had every right to do that as well. The 2 lbs gave Mayweather no advantage in that fight. No matter what weight Floyd would still dominate Marquez. Did you see Floyd use his weight against JMM. I seen Floyd box and it looked like a sparring session.

12 rounds of making the smaller counter-puncher move forward against himself, the larger counter-puncher.

That's what happens when you fight very infrequently and cherrypick every opponent. :good

Depends on how you look at it. Manny did what he was suppose to do against Hatton. Mayweather however did beat the undefeated Hatton and beat him at his own game. Hatton almost got stopped in his very next fight after Mayweather as well.

You just mad that mayweather laughed all the way through his schooling of marquez while pac was crying that marquez was waiting for him to initiate the attack:rofl

well, as whoupicking had said, floyd's team requested to change the contract to 147 instead of 144. all marquez could do was to refuse to fight but he doesn't have the leverage to pull-out of a fight that GBP already ahd spent promotions already. it's just floyd making sure that he has that advantage at the end.

you cannot even say that those two pounds won't give floyd an advantage since marquez trained for a 144 fight in mind. those extra pounds would means extra punch resistance irregardless of what style he employed to fight jmm. also making 144 could have made floyd less punch resistance or could have taken some time from floyd's preparation and might even drain or slow floyd.

144 was arranged to make it seem that floyd will conceed a little, but he didn't.

It's not just how I look at it though. Look at Froch and Ward. Very few people would argue that Ward is the more skilled fighter, but he'll never command the respect that Froch does because he never leaves his own back yard. If being seen as the best fighter was solely about skills then no doubt Floyd could possibly be a top 10 ATG. It's his own unwillingness to take risks that ensures he will barely be a footnote in boxng history even if he does remain undefeated.

starting from 2007 Floyd only fought 5 times. Pac fought 13 times in the same timespan and racked up 6 titles in that timeframe against much better competition.

Pac's been more dominant. Floyd has dropped off .
