They'll find any reason to not take on a true challenge. It's so pathetic. So according to Dan, Darren Barker is a possible opponent. Who is Darren Barker to get consecutive title shots? Utter disgrace. And if HBO buys this crapfest, then we know nothing has changed at that network. Let them go back to putting Chavez on bull**** PPVs for all I care.
Barker is a good fighter, he is ordinary but good. He is a challenge IMO. It will also gauge how developed Chavez Jr is at this point by taking on a guy that the P4P #3 fighter just struggled against. There are better options (I don't mind it personally), but at least he is stepping up in class.
That's pretty shitty really. He should be fighting Sergio next anyways. Protected matchmaking is one thing, but they make it so obvious its sickening.
Andy Lee could knock out Chavez, it's incredibly unlikely Barker could. All Chavez needs to do is see the final bell and he'll get the decision regardless of his performance. They'll keep him away from guys who can bang.

It's a pity Arum doesn't share your confidence. Chavez should be stripped for not fighting Martinez. He was supposed to be allowed one defence and then must fight him but Suliaman has unsurprisingly gone back on his word.
why are people that upset Sergio just fought Barker. If barker is soo good this is a big step up for CHavez.
