There is no such thing as beeing fan of a fighter without beeing fan of the sport.

Lets drop the past and concentrate on the here and now.

    What are the facts?

    1. We have Floyd Mayweather doing what he does best and that's run his mouth. But no talk of a vacation. No talk of not thinking about boxing. And complete acknowledgement of the fact that Manny is now ready to take the full random test.

    2. We have a May 5th and venue scheduled by Floyd with him calling out Manny to be the opponent.

    3. Its a good 6 months away. Plenty time for promotion and build up. Neither fighter has another fight scheduled.

    4. Manny says he wants it, as does Floyd.

Sounds like everything is in place to at least start negotiating again.

Why is "Manny is ducking" starting to gain steam?

    1. Top Rank, Roach, Ariza, Koncz, and Manny has never been hesitant to say that are ready to fight whenever Floyd gets the urge and stating Floyd is ducking to any media outlet that will listen.

    2. Manny doesn't make much of an attempt to show that this fight is what he wants and nothing else will do. Allowing his promoter to speak for him when its him that people wanna hear from is really starting to damage his character. He's a grown-ass man but he allows Bob Arum treat him like a child. I mean during the post fight interview after Pac/JMM III he should have said "thanks Bob, but I got this." My respect for him would have shot through the roof.

    3. Regardless of what Floyd has said and done in the past. RIGHT NOW, he says he's ready to go. Nobody is questioning it. He has made himself completely clear with no misunderstandings whatsoever.

    4. The article that was written up with Richard Scheafer saying he tried contacting Top Rank but was told they aren't interested in discussing the fight is very damaging.

    5. Ariza going on record saying that he believes Floyd wants the fight and Bob is the one keeping it from happening is also very damaging.

The last 2 points are the worse that are switching the publics perception of who is ducking. Even Floyd's haters don't have much of a leg to stand on with this argument.

At the end of the day, regardless of contracts, the casual fan has always believed the promoter works for the promotee. So when Bob Arum comes up on record saying he's not interested in discussing the fight the average fan is gonna think that is what Pac wanted. TR's PR team is working overtime to fix this before it gets out of hand.

    1. Koncz visiting Floyd's gym to talk about a fight. Floyd said they didn't even know who he was at first and Ellerbe said the fight wasn't even discussed. So he was basically there to stroke Floyd's ego and to get the media talking.

    2. Bob Arum is talking to investors? That is a first. But he is playing nice in the media all of a sudden. Apparently Arum as always been a family friend with the Mayweathers? WTF?

Either way, I think you get the point.

The "general consensus" that Floyd was ducking was held by what you might call undedicated boxing fans. Everyone else knew what as really going on.

Example would be me and my knowledge of MMA. I follow a very small contingent of fighters. But I sure as hell couldn't hold up a convo about MMA. I'm happy to say "I don't know **** about MMA!" And proud of it.

Well after years of Pac dominating and destroying competition, they were having a hard time defending their idol Floyd who was clearly ducking Manny for fear of losing his 0. Finally Pac struggles in a fight, not only do they consider it as moral victory, they see it as an actual victory for Floyd. So now because Pac struggled in his last fight, Pac knew all along he would lose to Mayweather if they fought and was tje one ducking. Nevermind Floyd putting up road blocks, then going on vacation when said road blocks were met. It doesn't make much sense, but that's how these morons think.

And apparently Pac's team feels the same way by being hesitant to even speak with Floyd's team about the fight.:huh

Of course there is a difference in knowledge depending on how much you watch. But the whole "You are a fan of a boxer but I am a fan of the sport" remains bull****.

Yeah, but one of you *****s said that because I thought Manny lost I'm not a real fan? Whay kind of bull**** is that? That just shows *****s only watch the sport for Floyd and not boxing. I mean being objective about Floyd is totally out of the question for you guys. :-(

If you listen to Pac's interviews he thinks the fight is almost made. Now tell me why he would say that if he was trying to avoid Floyd? Avoiding someone would go something like "I don't have the urge" or "I'm gonna take a vacation"..somewhere akong those lines.

Brah have you been the last few weeks, haven't ya hurrrrrd? It's been exposed by numerous reliable sources that Arum has been the one ducking on Pac's behalf....... when members from your own team are outing your BS it's pretty good evidence wouldn't you say.....

You people fail to understand that Floyd called Pac 2 weeks before the fight with Marquez. Did he somehow foresee that Pac would struggle against Marquez? Probably. But you idiots are acting all along that Floyd only had the urge to call out Manny after the Marquez fight which isnt the case.

Team Pac has been a complete mess from jump....

Team Mayweather have been very hard to wrok with....

Im not going to say either fighter is ducking...i do believe Arum did not want this fight to happen that early so he could ride the money train longer.

I think even now his greedy self really wants to milk the JMM/Pac saga one last time before he throws Pac to the wolves.

I've always stated that its been ARUM from day one!
