    Fighter of the year awards take into account more than just the fights of a perticular boxer. Its about the whole man. Heres my of the year choices.

    Fighter of the year-Juan Marquez
    Knockout of the year- Martinez
    Comeback of the year- Demarco
    Beatdown of the year- Kirkland
    Most embarrasing moment of the year=Ortiz

    I like this thread.Marquez still strong in people's minds but I've got a feeling Alvarez is in with a strong shout.Not correctly for me but I think it's that young champion thing that sometimes overrules common sense.

    Rios -- should have three victories by the year end. Really exciting style. Won a belt. Had a fight of the year candidate early in the year, could be in a barnburner this weekend.

    There's no real standout candidate this year - so I say the winner of Ward/Froch seems as likely as any.

    I remember before pac vs jmm 3 happened a lot of people said about different fights that if the guy pulls off an unlikely upset he could very well deserve foty, this was said about ortiz,hopkins and jmm, when most of the people score it fore marquez and he basically should have won, why do we have to respect the decision of the judges then?
    It seems 70% scores it for jmm 20% a draw 10% for pac, which means marquez deserved to win for me (beside seeing the fight) with all the other stuff in mind I would say give it to him.
