How bad was the year boxing year 2011?

    hopkins - dawson crappy end

    ortiz -mayweather crappy end


    the boringness of the heavyweight division (we thought at least haye vs wlad would be a good fight and than ...:tired) & solis vs vitaly was on high expectations and look what happened.... :patsch

    tons of robberys and postponent fights.

    a lot of fights that shouldve happened and didnt like may-pac (now its too late), martinez vs piroq, bradley vs khan....


    I simply had high expextations and a lot was in the horizon but as for me, the year realy was bad, not much excitement happened...

    It was a bad year if it comes down to the big events.

    Pac vs Mosley sucked
    Wladimir vs Haye sucked
    Floyd vs Ortiz sucked and was controversial
    Mares vs Agbeko I was controversial
    Vitali vs Adamek was a mismatch
    Dawson vs B-Hop sucked and controversial
    Pac vs JMM III was controversial

    But there were quite a few nice fights troughout the year, and for the real boxfan it wasn't that bad at all.
    Only the casual viewer who watches only the big events could well say "**** boxing!"

    for me it was a ok year

    In going to have to cosign everyone else here... It wasn't that bad of a year unless you only watched the main events, expecting modern day classics... Otherwise there were a number of great off the radar cards this year imo

    come on man, with all you listed still saying the year went good, are you out of your mind? sure there were her in there good fights, but the most important fight are the big ones with the big stars and basicly every big fight sucked big time, either boring, bad decision or to quick ending!

    I maybe watched 300+ fights this year, and I have to admit there were some gruelling robberies (the US seems to be battling Germany for the title robbery central) and stinkers. But I've also seen a lot of good fights, with the right winner and capable judges...
    Like I said, if you only watch the big events it's one of the worst years ever, but I don't! I watch about 6 fights a week, and even more if there are big cards out there...

    300+....that is to much for me, you realy love this sport so. but the thing is this that I dont watch compared to you a lot of boxing, only big fights and some small ones on the undercard and damn with the year bad with some exceptions...
