Active boxers of any weight division . I'd say that smart boxers that can adapt&adjust in a fight as: Mayweather,Ward,Hopkins can be successful in a mma career . sorry if this kind of thread was before !
Wlad would be pretty good I reckon, so long as he doesnt get hit with 4oz gloved bombs. Same could probably be said for Haye, Kirkland and Rios
i think anyone that can bang and has decent head movement foot speed, or someone who can control range, i remember bj penn beat sean sherk ( a wrestle) by introduing a decent jab, sherk couldnt get near him to take it to the ground and took a bit of a beating from boxing 101, the jab
none of the above, they would all get mullered and butt ****ed vic darchinyan and kermit cintron (ignore his mental issues for now) would be the 2 best imo, both have good wrestling backgrounds especially vic
Absolutely none of them, they'd get wretle ****ed and destroyed. Cintron hasn't trained wrestling for years either.
Old school fighters: Berlanbach and and Masashi Kudo came from wrestling backgrounds. Bob Fitzsimmons would be more suited to MMA than boxing nowadays.
Floyd Mayweather would've been absolutely shite at MMA, even if he'd been training in every aspect for the last decade. He just doesn't have the mentality. But even though I dislike Floyd, that's why boxing is better than MMA (and not the only reason too)
That's gonna' help him get out a rear named choke. I guess Pele Reid would be UFC HW champ' if that's the case.
Of course, and I am relaxed ;-) Jus interested as why Floyd (who has gone about his career in one of the most infuriating ways possible) is an indication of boxings superiority? :think
@ Wlad in MMA, He'd get taken down in matter of seconds. I don't know any really cos you got to be able to deal with takedowns, fighting on the floor.
Darchinyan is a good call. He has the vital wrestling skills to add to his impressive hand striking. I agree that some of the enthusiam for other boxers in MMA is misplaced. Good hands alone will only get you so far.
