Calzaghe has been very respectful about Froch since he retired.

I don't think there was any real animosity between them anyway. Froch was just pissed off that Calzaghe wouldn't fight him.

 

When they finally tried talking to each other like adults, they quickly and unexpectedly became deeply fond of each other and a beautiful friendship blossomed.

 

I don't think there was ever any real deep animosity. Froch always respected Joe, even looked up to him. But he was calling him out in the hope of landing a big money all British fight, which in reality was never viable. Because it was "who is Carl Froch?" at that point.

Once he realised it wasn't gonna happen, he got on with making his own legacy.

I dont think they really hated each other. Froch always pushed for the fight to get his name out there, and Joey C thought he was a level passed him, which he was.

Once Joey C gave up the WBC, the bad mouthing stopped

Carl was being ignored by the TV companies in a big way so it was always a publicity stunt.It took Sky far too long to get him properly on board.
