You make no sense. Fedors not Michael Jordan. No one came close to Jordan in his prime and he took on the best and in the Finals came out on top every time. Ridiculous comparison. Fedor has had a great run at HW. Its no different than Matt Hughes run at WW. The only difference is Matt Hughes loses seem to count and Fedors dont. You cant get K'oed and say "time out" especially when its a 39 year old Middleweight. Fighting baboons for the last 5 years has got to count as not good in your resume. Fedors the only one who gets a pass on this.
atsch Cmon man, your description on Jordan pretty much describes Fedor's prime. And who are these Baboons you are referring to? Andrei Arlovski? Tim Sylvia? Hong Man Choi? They are all distinguished heavys, if someone like Cain was destroying them you would be on his balls instead of talking how they were detrimental to his record. You and others play this revisionist game about how Fedor's competition was just overrated, but when you look at the UFC vs Pride showdowns from back then it is another story.
You cant compare MJs dominance to Fedor. MJ just toyed with everyone on the court whoever it was. And well past his prime he was still a stud for the Wizards and a top scorer in the league. Thats not Fedor. And yes all these guys are bums, with or w/o Fedor, Sylvia was never any good, thats why UFC was a joke when he was champ. And this is the same guy who cracked Andreis' glass jaw way before Fedor did. And Hong Man Choi?? you kidding?? I think the problem is the other way around , people look at Fedor as some mythical figure that should never be held under scrutiny. Hes fought two great fighters, two tough matches with Big Nog and a war with Mirko.
green marked 100 % yes nogueira and dan...I don't know, there is This content is protected , This content is protected (it was a draw vs dan and shogun defeated many superstars in their prime like machida or jackson) and guys like aldo or bones are catching up in fame and record status so....
Shoguns beaten prime Machida, Jackson and tied with Henderson Along the way he's shown he can mix it up with the best of them and take a shot like no one else. Henderson caved in his ****ing skull, yet he kept fighting Hughes is another good shout, but just not on the same level as Shogun Hendo
yeah. shogun for me, when he was in his prime pride days was one ****ing bad ass. very skilled, moved great, punched hard, kicked hard, had it all. also his list of people he beat is impressiv: rogerio nog, overeem, arona, jackson, machida 2 times (yeah he beat them both), griffin etc. well I know he lost clearly to bones, but for one, bones is soon gonne be one of the top 5 best mma fighters ever and second, dude is simply just larger and taller than any other mma light heavy. in a p4p sense, means both same hieght, weight and reach bones would have had much more problems vs shogun, also considering shogun is way far off his prime chutebox years....
You can never please everyone with a list of this sort. But credit where it's due. That's a solid list :good
I'd so much rather be wrongly perceived as a bet dodger than actually be a known mongtard like you. :good
I'm questioning why Nog is on there, but Hughes isn't. Not saying what's right and wrong, but they seem very similar to me. Both the second best ever at their weight, both have very good records, and were pioneers. Both past the torch to better fighters, also on this list. Neither very well rounded, and did most of their dominant work on the ground. Both lost fights as they got older. However, Hughes has a win over GSP. Just some thoughts.
Mike Tyson is a better comparison for Fedor than Jordan is, by far. Early on extremely dominant and impressive. Their mystique carried them farther than their actual accomplishments midway through their careers. Eventually reality caught up with both of them and they got beaten. Now questions are raised about how great they actually were in their prime compared to current fighters and other fighters that they did not fight. They are both among the top 10 ever and THE most exciting heavyweights ever to watch, in their prime. Jordan was on another level and it's an insult to compare him to either one. :deal
