It's one thing people watching it free online and a total another ball game paying. They are beyond delusional. I would bet less than 10% of those people who watched online sign up. Especially give this paywizard ****.
This is one of the major things in boxing promotion I think Coming from a non boxing background it struck me that boxing was an 'anticipation' show, and it was always confusing that promoters and TV neglected this aspect. By this I mean the more the viewer or fan knows about the fighters past, abilities or personality the more they would invest and reap in the eventual contest - either becoming attached to one of the contestants (becoming a fan) or forming a prediction that would be either proved right or wrong. Kind of like the buzz gamblers get without spending any money. You see the kind of attention Margo Cotto 2 has despite both are past their best from a sporting point of view - the show, like many rematches has captured a fan interest from the past contest and everything that came after. Most fights the fans unless they are local or ultra hardcore don't know the first thing about the fighters other than maybe their boxrec.
KOTV's showing fights off Boxnation now alongside their random fights from abroad. They showed Bellew - Cleverly highlights last week. Not that it would raise their profiles or anything haha.
