I read a Vic Darchinyan quote in a newspaper this morning where he says he will definitely have an MMA fight in 2012. Vic has all the weapons including a wrestling background to make a success of MMA :good
he will have to go up in weight , i think the smallest ufc weight is in the 130's but id love to see him fight mma
His Glass Jaw will be brutally shattered. He's a far superior stand-up fighter to the MMA guys but his Chin is abysmal, he'll wind up on his back, and a few flurries have GnP will have him doing the curly toes convulsions.:roflatsch
hes got the perfect lunging, spring loaded, power punching syle for mma. i wouldnt be surprised if he became quite succesful at it.
Being k.o'ed by donaire (1 of the biggest punchers p4p in boxing) does not make him a glass jawed fraud! If you've seen him fight you would know his chin isn't bad!
If he genuinely embraces his wrestling background, coupled with his ko power then it could be exciting.
I usually agree with your judgement on glass jawed fighters, even though I think you go over the top with it, but you're dead wrong here. He got starched by a guy with top 5 pound for pound skills, great power and who looked 2 weight classes bigger on the night. That doesn't mean Vic has a **** chin.
Not agree with you at all about his chin, the man got caught with perfect shot to the button I can see him doing quite well in MMA actualy Good luck to him if he decides to do it
I know his Dad was an Olympic wrestling trainer but how much experience does Vic has and how often has he sharpened the tools as of late? Also needs sub' defence. If he came in at his natural weight he'd be a Featherweight (boxing) so even if the UFC introduced Flyweight he'd be undersized z Vic Vs Dodson for the UFC Flyweight Championship? ;-)
Would be interesting to see Cintron make the switch too. Apparently he was a wrestling stud in college.
