it seems to me the most often quoted press sources come from the uk. i read a broad range of forums and consistently uk websites and newspapers are used in the OP or later in the thread.

way way more than any other country.

from what i know of the uk you have a broad range of left (guardian, independent), right (telegraph) to the gutter press (daily mail etc) and even the supposedly neutral such as the bbc.

one thing i will say is that the general standard of reporting is ****ing excellent. way way better than here in france or over the border in spain.

personally i think the idea of left/right ideology is for idiots and i can filter what i read, but i think as a whole if you do this ,then the uk press is the best source of info out there.

how do people, especially non brits feel about this?

Generally it's pretty awful (especially the tabloids ofc) but the BBC is very reliable if a little slow to react to news, but then they usually check their facts and don't usually sensationalise everything.

i find uk media outlets to be terrible for boxing. Unless there is a british fighter involved you won't hear about it.

Even when a British fighter is fighting (J.Murray), for a world title no less against a very good fighter, you'll be hard pressed to find anything about it at all, its a travesty.

Best boxing articles I read by far are in Boxing Monthly and Boxing News...apart from that the only boxing I read in the press is Frank ******s column in The Sun on Saturdays

But that is not really the media's fault, they will just go with stories that the public will be interested in and outside of a handful of fighters, boxing is not that popular. This is boxings own fault, not the media's.

The fact Murray is fighting for a World title, not the World title, is a clue in itself as to why this is.
