I think Sky were terrible from start to finish and no way Murray won that fight. Sturm was the aggressor, he was hitting harder, fighting while tired, trying to finish strong and the champion. Murray did not give the impression he was there to take the title. He was backing up, covering up while getting hit and his response were weak punches. He punched hard much too little. Nevertheless, I'm one man with an opinion and opinions are like arseholes. Whats your take?
Murray won the fight, sturm mostly hit murrays glove's with his punches,i think the fact murray got a draw in Germany pretty much answers who won..
I wasn't paying it enough attention to score it. Smith telling me what a great fight it was when it was shite was going my head in.
I had it 116-113 to Sturm. I can see an argument for Murray, but certainly not the way Sky put it. They seemed to think that Murray should get it just cuz he's a likeable lad from St Helens who a lot of people wrote off.
Unfortunately for SKy, Watts card was exposed when he scored the last round even. That was laughable and as bad as any judging I've ever seen. Murray was stunned in the beginning and the end of the round.
It was funny the way Watt scored that last round even seemingly just to give Murray the slight nod then cried robbery at the end.
I thought Murray did enough. I missed the last round though, unfortunately, and that could have swung it.
Sturm for me. As Roe says I think maybe Watt knew he had to give Murray 10 points in that last round to get the result he seemed to want.
I scored the last round even too. Thought Sturm finished big, but Murray landed a higher volume of shots earlier in the round. I had the fight 115-115.
Sturm hurt him early and late, that defines a round. I also thought Sturm was busier and Murrays few pitty patter rallies were weak.
It's not so much just the scoring of the last round (which I thought was wrong anyway though) it's just the way he gave it even, then seemed confused as to why it was only scored a draw. TV channels are useless at analysing fights fairly though. Darren Barker said he scored the fight to Sturm, yet they gave him hardly any air time to get his views across, they just stuck with the "Murray was great and robbed" story. Same as HBO the other month where Max Kellerman seemed to score Pacquiao/Marquez to Marquez.. yet he hardly got a word in and they went off on how Manny deserved the fight for a bunch of random reasons.
Had Sturm by three and thought Sky were going way overboard with the Murray performance during the fight tbh
Unfortunately there is this system of bull**** where everyone with an interest to a fighter gets involved in the bull****, whatever it may be. In this case it was Murray won, shock Hatton scored it for Murray, shock Sky all loved Murray. God knows why Barker didn't just come out and say Sturm won but Murray made it close. He almost seemed reluctant to say Sturm won it on his card and had to follow the Sky bull**** of Murray made Britain proud.
