i Rewatched Cotto Vs Marg 1.

To be honest, Wraps or no wraps Marg is going to be very hard to beat. in the first fight Cotto landed his best shots MULTIPLE times in nearlly every round...But Marg just kept coming, It wasn't hand wraps that was the main factor in the fight...it was the pressure, marg chased him Corner to corner, and made Cotto throw a ton of punches just to keep him away. Until he wore out.

It was like watching a child vs a man. Cotto got bullied in that fight. and i can't see him landing better shots in this fight then he did in the first. Marg was telling the truth in the face off that he didnt really feel Cottos power. He didnt have plaster on his chin.

it all comes down too how much have these 2 changed since then. and is Margs eye going to hold out.

    Who you got?

Cotto. Im thinking he is the fresher of the two. Marg looks like he has had one too many battles...i didnt like his movement ( lack of) in the pac fight. I know its pac, but he looked like a zombie that night...i hope he is tomorrow and cotto brutalises the criminal.

I see your point, but Cotto has to realize what is stake this time. His cardio seems better in training footage (seems to be moving more, more intensity, more speed) which is an improvement he had to make. I don't think Cotto stops Margarito (even with the eye) but I think he'll take it on points. Cotto's a smart fighter and I don't see him eating all those uppercuts a second time round. Should be a great fight, looking forward to the weigh in today!

roosters got it right , the crap about margs handwraps being the deciding factor completely overshadowed what everyone seen with their own eyes , cotto beat the absolute **** out of margs , could'nt miss with his power shots but just could'nt sustain it for 12 rounds from the joe frazier white hot pressure and determination from margs , same thing happened to cotto against pac , good early success but faded under the in your face constant pressure by pac . margs is a big chance here - just dont think cotto has it in him to keep throwing 100 punches a round for 12 to keep margs off him - think he'll slow down again and margs will jump him .

Brandon rios lost his 135 belt on the scales. Couldnt make weight after a number of attempts. and apparently he lookeddead to the world.

He always talked about moving to 140 as he has problems making lightweight.. He has to now. Murrays chances of an upset just got better.

Having the plaster in his gloves gave him a pyschological advantage. It made him feel like superman. Just like a placebo effect.

This time round he will not have this extra confidence. Cotto should out point him.

Yeah no doubt Murrays chances went up a couple notches.
Rios was huge at 135...will be with guys more naturally his size at 140.
Looks like his fight vs Gamboa wont happen now either in 2012.

He was dead to the world....

Murray can still win the vacant title.

Rios will pay murray an extra 20k.

Rios cant weigh more than 146 lbs by 9am tomorrow morning ( us time)

Yeah mate when i read that i couldnt believe he was somehow making 135.
I think he will have to drain himself a bit just to make 140.
He looked like he was gonna collapse when he was 135.6

Luckily has he has to weigh in at 146.5 or less by 9am tomorrow morning which should rehydrate him a fair bit.
He will be over 150 when fight night comes.

I put a few dollars on Murray by points at 16 dollars when I heard about the extent on Rios' weight struggles and the new weight conditions. Long shot still, but Rios can't be in a good frame of mind after that.

i put $20 on Marg to KO Cotto in Round 8. I will get back over $700 if it happens. I think if theres a KO in this fight it will be before round 10. these 2 fighters wont have as much in them as they did in the first fight.

The first Cotto/Marg fight haunts the **** out of me.
I dropped 1k on Cotto, and those last 3 rounds seemed to go for 30 minutes as it was obvious midway through that the fight only had one outcome and the end result being me walking home from the casino slaping myself in the head every 3 steps.
