Pacquiao nominated for US Sports Academy Male Athlete of the Year

    The Athlete of the Year ballot is the culmination of the Academy’s yearlong Athlete of the Month program, which recognizes the accomplishments of men and women in sports around the globe. Each month, the worldwide online votes along with the Academy’s selection committee choose the male and female winners.

    The Academy, in conjunction with USA Today and NBC Sports, will announce the 2011 Male and Female Athletes of the Year on Christmas Day on Sunday, Dec. 25.

    The United States Sports Academy is an independent, non-profit, accredited, special mission sports university created to serve the nation and world with programs in instruction, research, and service. The role of the Academy is to prepare men and women for careers in the profession of sports.

    whats so athletic about beating 2 old guys (and nearly losing to one of them)? Voting Pacquiao for the sake of voting Pacquiao is like a teenage popularity contest :roll:

    I'd probly have to give it to Rodgers

    Yeah they might be old but they're ranked higher than their much younger contemporaries. One is even ranked #5 P4P.

    Pacquiao was not nominated because he's the most popular boxer right now. He's being nominated because he deserves it.

    well the fight would have to be fair. So a good ole hockey fight will do. I think Chan has good foot work and a great jab to keep manny off balance. also there is no ice from were Manny is from. So his ****ed!

    Baseball, Marathon, Soccor, Tennis, Football, WW Boxer.

    Anyone see the odd one out. 5 of these sports the contestants compete against the absolute best their sport has to offer regardless of size. Pac isn't even in the top thousand in his chosen sport.
