I just don't get why certain people absolutely hate particular boxers so much that they become this biased. Oh well.

The welterweight division in 2006/7, was like the jr middle division is now. After Floyd fought Hatton, he "retired" just to avoid all the best fighters of his own size, especially Cotto.

Everybody knew he was ducking all these guys, its not debatable.

Cotto didnt duck Mayweather, Arum did. After Mayweather beat Gatti, talks of a Mayweather-Cotto fight at 140 began to circulate. ARUM was the one that said his fighter wasnt ready for Mayweather...also, Hatton's team at that time felt that he wasnt ready for Mayweather either. So, Mayweather moved up to 147. Bottom line, its no coincidence that since Mayweather left Top Rank, he's hasnt fought one single fighter out of Arum's stable...not one. And we're going on like 7 years now.

 

So you did not see Floyd's head get punched back over the ropes a few times by Ortiz? Had Ortiz not lost his cool, he was on his way to making Floyd earn his money in the ring for once. He was not Gatti and he was not Baldomir and he certainly was not little Marquez. FLoyd was in for a long night and that is why he acted like Floyd and went the sucker punch route.
