    @RealRoyJonesJr

so you back in the square in june, jones....

u know it. And I love the real concerned thoughts. But truth is, God allowed me to make the legacy. So I should b allowed 2 do as I please with it.

so yes, I tuck the chin, laugh at the negativity from the ones who have accomplished nothing in life themselves, and push on

come on man stop killing your name time to hang up the gloves should have went out on top.

thanks my friend, but I started when I got ready, and I'll stop when I get ready. But I appreciate the concern

Ugh...don't get me wrong @RealRoyJonesJr I'm a huge fan, but u need to hang the gloves up. Remember Danny Green?!

one could never succeed or shock the world if he is afraid of defeat. And I'm quite fearless

@RealRoyJonesJr after ruiz how did you drop all of the weight? #ukroyjonesfans

    was VERY difficult

Ring legend Roy Jones Junior (55-8, 40 KOs), a former four-division world champion, will fight WBC #4 ranked light heavyweight Dawid Kostecki (39-1, 25 KOs) in Poland on June 30.

“Roy was always my idol, the only fighter I loved to watch. But it was then, now is my time to beat my hero and take his place,” said Kostecki, who lost his only professional fight 6 years ago. “Roy is coming to my country and I will be a great host but that will change the moment we step into the ring!”

    Roy has his own ideas…
Are you ready for your trip to Poland?
RJJ: Absolutely – ready and pumped for Wednesday’s press conference. I am flying into Warsaw Wednesday at 10 in the morning, flying from Chicago, so it will be like flying from one Polish city to another (laughing). No, seriously – I’m really looking forward to seeing Poland now. I am only staying a short time now ‘cause I’m training harder than ever. I’ll have more time when I come back for the fight on June 30. I know how proud a nation Poland is and how hard the Poles are working to make a living.

What do you know about Kostecki?
I checked out a bunch of his fights, and know what he can and cannot do. He’s tough, wants to go punch for punch and I like his attitude in the ring. There is a reason why he is so highly ranked but I’m planning on rewriting those rankings a little on June 30.

In one of his interviews, Kostecki said that you are his idol, that he learned his style watching your fights…
Well I guess we will have to wait to find out on June 30th how good a student he actually is because I’m not ready to give my students anything yet – they have to prove themselves first before they have the right to call me their teacher.

Roy – how good are you right now? Should people doubt you?
(singing) “Ya’ll Musta Forgot, Forgot, Forgot, Forgot.”
Kostecki and his fans need to pay a little closer attention to my lyrics. They think that I’m not the man, the fighter I used to be. Let’s get this straight – I’m coming to Poland to win, and I will beat Kostecki. There is no substitute for winning, this is the only possible outcome. I just finished my training. I’ve been training every day for the last three weeks. That is why I was a little reluctant to change my training schedule and fly to Poland for this press conference, but I knew I had to come, to show the Polish people that this is for real, to show ‘em some love and for them to see that I am 110% committed to winning this fight.

Do you play soccer? We know about basketball…
I know that there’s big European tournament in Poland and the Ukraine and day after my fight there is the final game. I’ll be rooting for Poland all along (raising arms) “Polska gola” — and hopefully Poland will be playing in the finals and I’ll be there and even Kostecki will not be too sad after losing the fight to me. I am getting so psyched for this fight and can’t wait to see all my Polish fans – see ya’ll Wednesday!

    :/

The ATG Roy Jones Jr. has a fight scheduled on the 10th of December in the state of Georgia...against Max Alexander. Although we have the Khan V Peterson bout on the same night (and here on esb as you know I have been heavily promoting that ) we should all get behind RJJ; it will be streamed live I think on ustream for only $9.99.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE I HOPE RJJ WINS THIS BOUT AND HOPE THE RUMOURS ARE TRUE THAT THIS WILL BE HIS LAST FIGHT. I HATE TO SEE ROOKIES/SHITE FIGHTERS TALK TRASH TO HIM. IT JUST ISN'T RIGHT.

Just some of the geat memories a fan (who is also a cutman) shared with me moments ago. I would like to share them with you.

'You know the crazy thing about Roy is, you talk to him about any major fight and he can do a step-by-step replay verbally of that fight. I asked him one day about Larry Holmes, and he went off on this long diatribe about the 3rd round of a fight Larry had....made me feel like he was commentating on the fight live... Brilliant boxing mind, historically, fundamentally and businesswise.'

'Best memory of Roy was getting to work the punch mitts with him, and when we jokingly sparred together. Roy had one hand literally in his shorts and I had to hit him 10 times before he could hit me back (lightly)....needless to say I went 5 rounds with him before I landed 2 punches. '

As a long term fan the only thing worse than seeing him be KO'd is knowing that his talents could be used in safer ways to enrich our sport.

    RJJ KO1

Yeah I always buy his fights. This may sound stupid but sometimes I think by doing so I'm being an "enabler"(think thats the term).

Anyway I've never seen Alexander fight but just checked his boxrec (yeah I know) and he only has one win by KO and isn't exactly in the best form recently so maybe this is a good opponent for Roy atm.

Yeah same here maybe i'm an enabler as well :S Yeah i think Roy should pass through this young pup easily. If only we could fight for him and he gets awarded the belts... i'm crazy haha. I think he just wants to capture the cruiserweight belts and then he'll finish. Have you seen the interview I posted above... he explains it better in there.

Oh your watching the press conf... i was talking about the one after that. But in the presser the thing that irritated me was when that man told Roy to stand up for each question! I was thinking just give him the damn mic and let him speak sitting down. Would have thought they would have given him more respect seeing as he is co-promoting the event.

Boxer Montell Griffin who faced Jones twice at 175 lbs, and sparred with Floyd Mayweather Jr at 140 lbs said, "Floyd was no comparison as far as speed. Roy was much faster".

Obviously. Though didn't Jones roid? If so his career deserves an asterisk.

When they stole my gold medal in Seoul, Korea

Let's look back at my whole career

    Cuz y'all musta forgot! ....

The "best pound for pound" is mine

Hit Percy Harris with four hooks at one time

    Y'all musta forgot! ....

When I beat Bernard Hopkins, and won the IBF

The right was hurt, beat him with the left

    Y'all musta forgot! ....

As great as the current top pound-for-pound fighters are now such as Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr., Roy utterly dominated his opponents with ease and never even got touched.

He threw six hooks at a time and 10-punch combos, showboating so bad it mad you go from hating showboating to wanting to see what he'll do next.

We never see either Manny or Floyd do the things Roy was able to do in his prime.
