PEDs are illegal for everyone it will be strange to allow them only for boxers. You can not take EPO without prescription

Maybe a bad example, but I mean in cases like Chad Dawson's for example where he tested positive after smoking weed during camp and had his win changed to a no contest eventhough he didn't actually gain an advantage.

    That doesn't answer the question.

    That's so stupid.

That's like taking away Pavlik's wins because he spent 2 weeks drinking every night before a fight.

No, you're an idiot because you don't realize that it would make zero sense to only make PEDs legal for boxers. The whole reason steroids became an illegal substance in the first place is because they were abused for sporting purposes. And again, making PEDs legal in boxing will hurt the fighters involved and the sport as a whole. That's pretty obvious. That's why they shouldnt be legal in boxing, that's why your question is ridiculous.

So what if it will hurt the fighters?

Letting them punch each other in the head will hurt them.

Letting them under train will hurt them.

Letting them fight mike tyson will hurt them.

If you cared about the fighter's health you wouldn't be complaining about PEDs in the sport. You'd be complaining about the punches to the liver, brain and kidney.

I thought that it was going to obvious for an intelligent guy like you. Any way keeping it short no it should not be legal because it is illegal for everyone in the society that boxers are part. If there are some PEDS that are forbidden only for boxer maybe in case that it doesn't put their healths in more danger than reasonable. All that said I believe that most boxers take at least some kind of peds

Wait... you know battery is illegal right?

It's illegal to punch other people in the face for 36 minutes... it's assault.

So boxers can legally do that...... Should they not be allowed to?

It would make things much easier (no failed drug tests, no excuses if a boxer doesn`t want to fight someone,.....)

I watch boxing to see two peak physical specimens battle it out. To me any augmentation of the fighters takes them out of that and somewhere else.

Yeah if you want to see two guys drugged-up to the eyeballs knocking massive lumps out of each other by all means go for it, I might even watch it myself, but please don't call it boxing.

It's not about if I care about the fighter's health. It's about what would happen to the sport if PED usage became legal. When I was a little kid, I begged my father to let me box. He refused because he thought it was too dangerous. Many parents and athletes feel the same way, which is a big reason for the decline in popularity of the sport. Making the sport more dangerous is not going to help this problem. At the end of the day, you have to ask if the positives outweigh the negatives. In the case of allowing PED usage in the sport, the answer is obviously no.

No, for at least three reasons:

    1. It would not give more meaning or moral worth to the performances; in fact, it might give them less

    2. It wouldn't stop cheating - some would take peds that were not approved in the contract

    3. It would be dangerous both to the fighter and his opponent if certain peds were taken (e.g. the kinds that stop you from feeling pain as much, say).
