Robert Helenius vs. Derek Chisora & Alexander Povetkin vs. Cedric Boswell RBR

Damn...the exhaustion got to Boswell the last couple rounds and Povetkin just picked him apart once the difference in conditioning made itself clear. Boz gave it his best, but Povetkin fought a disciplined fight tonight and just didn't leave Ced the openings to do much but land some jabs and the occasional power shot. Even when both guys were fresh, Povetkin landed the cleaner shots and was just a hair off of missing some of the big shots that eventually found their mark.

This isn't the kind of performance that makes me say "watch out, Wlad", but overall, a better performance from Povetkin than I'd initially anticipated.

 

To be honest i think holyfield would have done betetr than boswell!

 

Holyfield wouldn't have tried to be slick and run away from Povetkin like Boswell.. A totally different fight

 

I thought this was gonna be a tough fight but Boz never really went for it

 

He's only 32, I thought he was 34. I guess he has a year till the K fights if he wants to prepare till then.

Povetkin is clearly not on Wlad's level. Ok performance, but Povetkin would get slaughtered by Wlad.

So Boswell only had a 2.5 week camp? I thought Teddy (going by the **** he says on FNF) didn't support that kind of match making, because it served no purpose.

I seen a guy laying flat on his back motionless once and at the count of nine jumped up and beat the count and fought on. He got stopped later that round but still. Look at Marquez in the first Pac Man fight after the third KD he laid flat on his back like he didnt wanna get up and covered his face with his gloves most refs would wave it off good thing he didnt.

Unless the guy is clearly asleep he should get a count. Like Dnny Jacobs vs Pirog. He laid there motionless for a few seconds but at the same time the ref went to wave the fight off Jacobs went to jump up and probably wouldve beat the count. You never know. This isnt MMA the guy has 10 seconds to get his **** together give him the ten seconds a lot can happen esp in a title fight.

 

All Bosewell did was throw weak ass jabs that missed 90 % of the time.
