Thought Martin Murray looked good tonite, never stoped coming never got hurt and if anyone was getting stopped it was Strum. Lost money on the outcome but wages of sin and all that. Strum does look to be on the slide, while I think he shaded the fight or the draw was fair enough he is on the decline and if Murray had maintained the pressure a bit more could have had him out of there. WBC's Suiliman has said Chavez jr must defend against Martinez next, if this upsets the Macklin fight should Mathew look again at rematching Strum or with Andy out of the loop with Chavez jr and Martinez should he pushing for a fight with the WBA champ. After tonites performance there will be plenty chomping at the bit thinking Strum is there for the taking.

I subsribed last night to Boxnation. It was pretty easy to do lads and all the fuss on the Brit forum about Wizard is a load of nonsense. It's no harder than opening any other on-line account. The opinion is that this channel won't attract the "casual fans"[non anoraks I prefer to call them:D], well I know of several who have already subscribed and it's early days yet. Big fights involving British boxers will bring in the masses if properly advertised.
Closer to home it might be the shot in the arm the Irish scene needs, particularly in the 26 counties where promoters have been scared off recently. A bit of TV revenue plus live TV exposure might make all the difference between turning a profit or not. Now its up to BUI to start thinking out of the box to help create new and exciting oppertunites for our boxers. For instance the Celtic title is a title only open to boxers from the north, but why can't the BUI and the BBB of C form an alliance of sorts that would enable all boxers from Ireland to be eligible to box for this title.
Has anyone else got an opinion on how we could shake up the scene here, because going by this years lack of promotions we could do with a shake up.

I tried to subscribe but they don't accept maestro debit cards so I can't.

Met Spike today, he said provided he keeps winning he expects at least 6 fights next year. He didn't seem very confident in ****** putting on a card over here though. Said he will only go back to 154 if he's offered a title shot as well

Hughie Myres emerged victorious from today's all-Ryston BC flyweight semi-final at the Dublin's National Stadium.
An eagerly contested 51Kg showdown saw Myres secure a 12-9 decision over Stephen Treacy, while Michelle Chambers saw off the challenge of Deria Lynch on an identical points decision in the only female semi-final of the day.
Portlaoise BC prospect Michael Nevin will meet Gary McKenna in next Friday's bantamweight final after edging out Carl McDonald by a single from a three-rounder which was in the balance right up to the final bell.
In the featherweight class, Chris Nevin denied the Ryston club a second finalist with a hard-fought 7-5 win over Paddy Joyce, while Belfast lightweight Barry O'Hara held a five point advantage five at the conclusion of his contest with Daryl Fitzgerald.
The Riverstown BC in Cork, meantime, will have two boxers in next Friday's finals after David Roche followed his team-mate, Mark Fitzpatrick, into next weekend's deciders with a third round stoppage of Jamie Quigley.
"We're absolutely delighted with the results this weekend and everyone with the club is looking forward to next Friday's finals," said John Wiseman of the Riverstown BC.

2011 European Youth silver medalists Gary Sweeney and Michael O'ReillyBut there was disappointment for Cork's Noel Murphy - who would have met Fitzpatrick in an all-Cork final if he had beaten Belfast's Paul Upton today.
However, Upton registered a 14-10 verdict to book his ticket into the 67Kg decider.
There was mixed fortunes for the Immaculata BC in Belfast in the 75Kg and 81Kg three-rounders, with JP Delaney, who recorded one of the biggest wins of the afternoon at the expensive of Michael Frayne, advancing, but Alfredo Meli bowing out to Dubliner Bernard Roe.
Emmett Brennan and Eamon Walsh beat opponents from the Ballincarrow BC in the 71Kg and 81Kg eliminators, Brennan posting a 20-12 win over Liam Green, and Walsh, who will meet Delaney in the light-heavyweight final, beating Thomas Roohan 11-6.

An all-Ireland title/association is the way forward. A few more doors need to be opened.
