Mayweather says lies are being told; denies negotiations are taking place

Do you think Mayweather would give up making money on the back end? Honestly? Arum is playing games and is going to use this in order to get out of making the fight. Wait and see how he says that Mayweather turned down a deal with Investors and so now they are moving on to Marquez. What will you say as a fight fan if and when that happens?

so Floyd essentially told Koncz there's no fight unless Pac drops the lawsuit.

...but then, why did they rerserve may 5 and ask him to sign the contract only to tell them later that there's no fight?

By the way, as was mentioned early in the thread, how come Floyd all the sudden isn't talking about Golden Boy?

I thought Schaefer was one of the point men for negotiations in the past.

Maybe Mayweather wants to keep his potential future duckings in-house, so Schaefer can't tell the media that it was Floyd who opted out of a fight? Who knows?

Also, the attempt to try to get the defamation lawsuit tossed as a pretext for fight negotiations? Yeah, good luck on that one.

Ellerbe and Shaefer reached out to Top Rank. Espn reported that. Floyd has always mentioned Ellerbe and Haymon bc those are the guys that really do his contract negotiating for the fight. GBp handles the promotional side of things.

Arum said that he would drop the lawsuit (interesting, because it's Pac's suit, not Bob's) if Mayweather were serious about making the fight.

All Bob has to do, then, is say that Mayweather isn't serious about making the fight, and that "promise" is gone.

Now people are going to say I'm Bob Arum, and not just his paid troll. :-(

After the Falcon Hawk press release was issued, and after what I wrote here in the forums last night, this Ben Thompson article had to come out today. From a Mayweather PR perspective.

Team Mayweather had to quickly counter the narrative(s) that were not in their interests.

That's why I said yesterday in my thread to "get your popcorn ready." Today's Ben Thompson piece was inevitable, and I'm sure Team Pac will be soon responding to Thompson's story. And on and on...

 

Arum is a lawyer, like Bill Clinton.

Remember "what the definition of 'is' is" (For non-USA readers, former USA President Clinton faced impeachment and removal from office about supposedly lying regarding some extramarital affair. One of the biggest joke lines that came out of that episode was Clinton saying that it depended on what the definition of 'is' is before he could respond to some question, I think)?

Parsing words and statements is what lawyers do. Don't think Arum doesn't know that, or won't do it.

It's pretty obvious that no negotiations are going on. What Arum has been doing is mind boggling. Through this entire 2 year process, not once has Koncz's name came up in regards to negotiating this fight. Now all of a sudden Koncz shows up unannounced to Mayweather's to talk to Floyd personally about making this fight? There's a good reason that mainstream sites ignored this. This whole thing about Falcon Hawk Entertainment is just ridiculous. Anyone with half a brain could see that it's fishy just by the fact that Michael Marley is the only one who reported on it.
