Was Cotto going to stop Marg if the fight continued?

    Looked to me like cotto was biting down and starting to hurt marg more and more. Especially when he finally went to the body and finished up top. Margs head/neck did not seem to be taking the punches as well as early on and it looked to me like his chin wasnt to far off from cracking.

    I thinked the stoppage saved Marg from a KO, Cotto wasnt going anywhere and seemed to be getting more and more comfortable and powerful with pushing him around.

    I was shocked he didnt go to the body more and felt if he had he would have had a much easier night and gotten a stoppage sooner.

    Another example is when cotto caught him and marg went to do his typical reapply of pressure and slipped and lost his footing a little.

    And Cotto's face obviously wasnt nearly as ****ed up and marg did land nearly as many uppercuts and straight rights at a higher weight.

    I think they robbed Cotto of the brutal KO we all wanted but must admit that Pacquiao did a lot of his work for him.

    are you kidding me? The stoppage saved cotto. There were 3 more rounds left, and cotto was def. starting to gas, and lose heart. When I saw Margarito laughing and telling him to bring it on, while chasing cotto on his bike, and then landing to the body..... I thought it was a matter of time before Cotto broke down

    If anything Margarito would have stopped Cotto if the fight continued.

    Thank goodness there are others who can see things without blinders on.

    One eye or not, Margarito wasn't fazed by Cotto in the least.

    I thought Cotto was doing beautifully and would've continued. No plaster no problem.

    Dude, Margo was smiling while being knocked into oblivion by Mosley at the end of their fight. Means nothing.

    I don't think it was going to be a KO. I actually picked Margarito to win via TKO/KO. All in all, I don't think Margarito was ever hurt despite being hit cleanly but numerous punches. Margarito is just one of them guys that just takes punishment very well. Great, intelligent fight by Cotto. Hope he can move on now past the whole Margarito cloud and still give the boxing world some good fights.

    Lol a lot of upset default mexicans here. I felt that Cotto COULD have stopped Margo if he were more aggressive, but he played it safe and it payed off. I felt if the fight would've continued it would have been a UD

    Hell NO. The 9th round was ALL Cotto and he was starting to put the hurt in his punches. Marg would have been stopped. The ref saved his pride tonight.

    Whoever says Margarito would have stopped Cotto is a biased idiot, and probably didn't watch the fight.

    couple more body shots and then finishing up top. If you looked closely towards the end Marg was not taking Cotto's shots the same way he had been earlier (which I have to admit is ****ing amazing) they were definitely effecting him more.

    I had a flash of the way the impact was starting to look right before mosley smoked him.

    Despite what he may have said on the record Cotto was willing to die in there tonight, it was personal and once he gained confidence by making it over the hump he wasnt going anywhere
