    Cotto stays with Arum

Cotto's only unfinished business is with Pac.

    No way? :huh:think

Cotto did a good job twinkle-toeing around the ring the whole night tonight, and showed an improved right hand. He won't have to commit as much to his punches if he's looking solely to outpoint Pac. I give him a chance. Pac's no mug he could very easily hurt Cotto early again chasing him down like he did Mosley and we'd have the same outcome. I just believe Cotto deserves another chance. After Mayweather, Pac will have nothing left, except maybe a fourth Marquez fight so why not?

Let's hope not. As a boxing fan, we can all only hope this doesn't happen but you never know with Arum.

No way Jose. Floyd and Marquez are the only fights we wanna see with Pacman.Anyone else not worthy or Pacman not willing to face. For Cotto I'd say Canelo is good. Either one can win it. Cotto vs Cintron a stay.busy all PR fight. He can try to unify titles too.

Lot of money, chance for final revenge and then Cotto's career would be all squared up.

Why should I care about money in a fight that seems undeserving and has no real intrigue. It seems utterly pointless, unless your Bob Arum yourself and want to make more money by keeping the fights in house. Otherwise, any boxing fan shouldn't care about such a fight. I'm not a promoter, I don't care about potential money-making story arcs. I care about good potential competitive fights, as most serious boxing fans do.

You dont have to care about the money, if the trio of Arum, Cotto and Pac care about the money.

    No intrigue?

Only "true" loss for a man who just got some other revenge. Can he get his final revenge?

Zero intrigue, Paul. You might have some case if this was one of the only fight viable to make money but it's not. Marquez, Floyd, and Martinez all make far more cash. Boxing fans are fickle, but I'm not sure they're fickle enough to buy this one with all the hope for a Floyd fight. Might look bad for Pac this time around, especially if its a rematch with Cotto as opposed to Martinez, Floyd, or at least Marquez.

I thought the fight was not going to happen, honestly. Thought that very recently.

But, this could change things. We'll see. :good

This is it exactly. A Cotto rematch at this point is almost as bad as a Bradley fight when the three opponents you named are out there.

It's inevitable if Cotto-Chavez happens in the meantime and Cotto takes JCC Jr's paper middleweight title. Then it just makes too much historical sense to pass up. Cotto - JCC would be a huge fight in its own right.

So, the real question is how likely is it Cotto-JCC Jr. happens? Because I don't see a Pac rematch doing the business unless Cotto's bringing that middleweight belt to the dance- paper or not.

Cotto did not impress me. Margarito's condition was suspect in that fight.
Pac will still outwork, outpunch, or knock out Cotto in a brutal fashion.
