what on earth was vics corner telling him?

 

he fought a bloke with the wrong style for him. that bloke had done a lot of work against other southpaws.....you could see it.

vic couldnt nail him with his left, but never stopped trying. his corner was right in tellingh him to use his right, but a bit late. vic should have noticed he needed to straighten his opponent up with his right, and right hooks, so he could then cross with his left at a target that wasnt turned away from him.

i dont think that fight tells of where vic is. it told us that vic fought against a bloke who had the wrong style for him. i think he should still give it another shot, if he can get one, as he is still world class and dangerous. who knows how good that fella he fought might really be? he may prove to be a very good champ, in the mould of 'sweet pea'?

 

The switch to MMA might be a good idea. I gave Vic 1 round the first.terrible. Never seen Moreno before don't know if he's that good or Vic's performance flattered him. Would like to see a Moreno-Mares unification bout.

 

yeah, vic still has a chance against all the top guys.

 

Moreno is not that good, he's an ok fighter, but Vic just took this fight for granted and paid the penalty. He has no real game plan other than rush in and swing wildly and hope for the best? Very poor effort from Vic and this fight spells the end for him in America. They won't waste their time on him now. He has no chance of a rematch with Mares Agbeko or Arce. Hang em up!

 

thats a bit naive. youve never seen moreno before, i'll bet youve never seen his record of opponents records. you have no idea of how vic trained for this fight, and i contend there arent many 36yo bantams out there that still have the fitness and speed of vic. so your contention that he didnt train is baseless.

his fight 'plan' had no direction, i agree, and he and his corner failed to rectify that soon enough. i dont think you give either fighter enough credit. moreno fought a very clever fight. he is an awkward, hard to hit fighter.

vic kept the fight entertaining, as he walked up all night and threw leather. vic will be welcome back in the states as he is an exciting fighter. so again, you have no idea.

who he fights next remains to be seen. but he is still world class, and well respected. i didnt see anything from vic that would cause me to adise him to give up. he has the power to win with one punch. thats what will give him longevity that he may not have had if he was 'just' a boxer. if vic gets another shot, he has that one punch that could win him a title.

MMA might retire him quicker....

Vic looked slow and as usual when things aren't going his way doesn't listen to any corner advice and continues to look absolute **** round after round trying to do it his own way.

 

Vic looked old, clumsy and most significant of all, very slow.

Handspeed has always been critical to Vic delivering the big payload but it was obvious from the first round today that he was way off the pace.

As a fan of Vic's from the beginning of his pro career, it's been a hell of a ride. He's won more major world title belts than any fighter we've ever turned out and he's won them all from defending world champions while fighting on the other side of the world. As far as I'm concerned, it's been a hall of fame career.

I think today signalled the end of Vic's run at the pointy end of the sport but I want to wish him all the best for the future in whatever path he chooses to follow and say thanks for a decade of great memories.

the corner gave no advice for him to listen too.

Angelo has to be one of the worst trainers ive seen, He says nothing to help his fighter, Just basic **** like "Throw your left and right hook more" -_-

in the last round he told vic "Its very close" then follows with "You need to stop him"


make up your mind Angelo, is it close or does he need the ko?

i know he is liked by a lot of people but i dont see it, i have watched him in the cornor many times and he is very bad in my opinion.

On another note does anyone see Mares, Agbeko or even Moreno giving Donaire any trouble if they were to fight at 118 ?

Victory.. not sure. Donaire is a big BW...

Moreno impressed me quite a bit, could really trouble Donaire but i'd like to see him tested one more time.

Mares has the output and skill to draw out a war with Donaire, would be a close entertaining bout.

I think Moreno has a better chance of beating Donaire.

 

They have the guy sitting around all day in front of Tv crews calling the guy who KHTFO a "PWICK " like i said he has learnt nothing only how to curse in a new language .

 

considering vic should have been awarded the winner vs mares, i think talk of vic retiring r over dramatic.

he has plenty to offer.

he is one of the best in the division still.

 

He is still a force at 118 but his power at 118 is not as great. Age is catching up with him. Another loss will see him drop out of the top 10 imo.
