Cotto fought pretty much the same fight and maybe added a little bit of Mosley and Pacquiao in there at times.

Agree 100%. Think Farhood called this too. Margo seemed sooo slow tonight too, even slower than normal to me. Also liked Cotto's pretty simple statement - "I'm a better boxer than him." Says it all really.

Margo on the press stand now...

Statement: feels good, apparently. still says cotto hits like a girl. says hus eye was worse against pac, thinks he could have continued, and asked for another round.

This was continuation of the first fight, felt he was doing damage and the miguel was holding on. he really wanted the belt, felt he couldn't do what he wanted, but put on a good fight.

Thanks Bob Arum for his support. Nothing we could do, knew coming to NY something could happen, Going to sit down and see what happens next.

Qs: Could you see the hook? Yes, I could.
Did you sense he was slowing down? yes, would have been a copy of the first fight.
Worried about the eye? not worried, doctor thinks it's ok. blames cotto for "rubbing" his eye... ffs...
What were you talking about in the ring? Just saying his shots weren't hurting and that he was hurting Cotto.

Delusional as well as a ****.

I think the Cotto in the first six rounds of the first Toni fight (although I gave Margo the 2nd) was the best Miguel we've ever seen.

Haven't watched this fight yet but he sounds good. Not interested in a fight with Floyd, if he'd somehow done in the first fight what he's done here then the fight would've been interesting. But even after admittedly not seeing the fight yet, knowing Cotto from his post-Margarito/Pacquiao bouts, he won't get much going against Mayweather, even accounting for stylistic attributes.

Got the Showtime card to watch yet as well. But I'm wide awake so it's all good.

I felt Cotto would stop Margarito late. Go back and watch the Mexican's last three fights. Considerably faded and now the eye? He wasn't in any shape to be beating a fighter of Cotto's quality. He should retire and preserve his eye and his health.

How did "no bantam spoilers" go in here?

****ers came in and ruined the results of BOTH in my General Forum RBR. :verysad (that after Freddy Krueger had threatened to punish any spoilers with a ban).

I'm really not having much luck in the betting lately, had £50 on Marquez to win on points and £20 on Cotto to win on a 9th round stoppage.

That said, absolutely delighted for Cotto, very good performance and surely that is the last we will see of that scumbag in a boxing ring. :happy:happy:happy

Arum wants a third fight. I don't see the point, Cotto can only do better.

Just seen the fight. It would be poetic justice if Margarito can never fight again now, after what he tried to do with Cotto in the first fight.

Why am i not surprised. Arum would sell his family to make some $$$$.

This is one of the only times i'd say there doesnt need to be a 3rd fight, it'll only end the same way.

Thank **** justice was done though, Cotto deserved that. His boxing display was fantastic, only a few times i got nervous as Marg trapped him on the ropes and tried to draw him into a war.

    WAR COTTO! :happy

I'm delighted for Cotto he put all his talents together last night. The guy is fantastic when he gets up on his toes. That has always been obvious, why he felt the need to stand and trade against Manny I'll never know.

Arum knows Cotto still sells. He can milk him a few more time before a mega fight. I would like it to be Manny again.
