What have we learned from THE rematch?

That Cotto still has it.

Few too many people were too quick to say he was "ruined" after Margo 1,and Pacquiao.

 

Margarito is 1 sadistic mother****er.... the guy literally loves taking immense amounts of punishment. I guess we knew that already though.

 

Right^ to the two comments above. I remember people going as far as to saying Cotto was done and won't have a big win again. I thought he'd stop Margo in the 12 but the eye is what made the stoppage come faster. Margo is a f'n warrior plaster or not as plaster doesn't give you heart or the legendary chin he has. Props to Cotto he fought a well disciplined fight from what I've heard and I look forward to seeing the fight next week. He really made the adjustments and took the pressure much better. I can see Cotto getting too excited from last night and forgetting to use a condom giving his wife an unexpected baby lol. Not that I wanted that to happen but props to both men.

 

Margarito landed a lot f punches, especially uppercuts and could not hurt Cotto or even swell his face. Cotto put on a great performance but he was still getting hit same as last fight. But he did not look like the elephant man. Do the math. Cintron, PW, lujaun, Clottey all need to get together and beat his ass. Arum too bc the way he defends that dude makes me think he knew about it the whole time.

That sometimes letting a fight go on is stupid. The pacquiao fight should have been stopped. They let it go on and the damage to margarito's eye turned out to be permanent

 

The Cotto we saw last night was slicker than ever.....his footwork is vastly improved and he seems to be back into the top 10P4P.

Margarito proved that even with his eye problem, lack of cement hands, and at an advanced age, that he can take a beating as good as ever.

That said.....from the fight I took that Cotto was still afraid of Marg's power, although he claimed he didn't feel those power shots Marg's landed. He was as elusive as I've ever seen him be, very Mayweather like. That could be due to Marg's limited come forward attack though.

Margs' should cash out....one more payday against Kirkland or Canelo and then retire. Without the wraps, and with his eye problem he's not a real threat to many fighters.

Cotto should focus on Floyd, Martinez, Chavez, Canelo and possibly a Pacqioua rematch. He beats Martinez, Chavez, Canelo, but loses in huge paydays vs Pac and Floyd. No KO losses though....too slick these days.:deal

Margarito has always been an arm puncher. He broke Cotto mentally in the first fight. Plaster had **** to do with it at all.
