What I wrote was true tommygun. Pick an Ali match that I mentioned, then watch the films. Better yet, pick a match on you tube, so we can score it here. I'll get the last laugh. Note, I did not use guys like Banks, or Cooper who floored Ali. Cooper really had him hurt. Nor did I use sloppy Chuck Wepner, who also floored Ali. I happen to think many of Wlad's title opponents are better than those three.
I think Brock, Sanders would ko Ali. I think You could put Brewster there too, just big modern warriors!!!
brock and sanders are of comparable size to foreman with nowhere NEAR his punching power. he couldn't KO ali, nor could they. he couldn't beat ali, nor could they. brewster is a nice combination of frazier and tyson without the skills or athleticism of either. lot of heart but would be completely shut out
Well , McCline wouldn't have overwhelmed Ali and probably wouldn't have stopped him , but could have decked him . And Tony Thompson seemingly should b considered a favorite 2 win - bigger opponent , left handed each 1 n attribute outside of Ali's element . Now add 2 it that Thompson was not a , whatever their names were , and even better & bigger than Bugner and there u have it - Ali loses . And it's not like it never happened .
never did in his prime though. and while you point out attributes that may have troubled ali, you're not factoring in quality. thompson is no better than mildenberger, who was beaten pretty comprehensively after some initial trouble. he's big yeah, but bigger doesn't make better and mccline is one of the best examples of that
He is not serious . And while Sanders would not have KOd Ali he should b considered d #1 favorite 2 stop a prime Ali early . Just 2 fast and rangy enough 2 go with his speed . And while Foreman hit harder I don't think Henry Cooper did . But if Ali lasts past d 5th rd or so then he survives and possibly wins a sufficient # of rds 2 take another worthless decision "win" after getting floored early , possibly more than once . And at least I know that if Ali did last past d 4th or so then it could have only been due 2 : 1) cheat 2) fleeing away 3) both .
Says u . Thompson was better than Mildenberger whom lost all of his big fights by stoppage . Thompson was only stopped by Wlad and late in d fight . McCline was not very good but was better than other men in his size that weren't bad themselves . And he was consistent beating superheavyweights except of d best 2 that he fought . 1 of which is severely underrated @ d other considered d #1 4 years now .
That was hell of a punch atsch Ali tripped and fell down it was ruled a knockdown but that was nothing.
I don't wanna read through the thread just incase anyone has been cringeworthy enough to suggest sanders would beat ali.
pfff, who would suggest that? suggest implies it's possible, sanders would DEFINITELY knock d overrated mother****er out
