The proof is in the pudding....Cotto has always been a very well balance, strong fighter. I'm very interested to see how Cotto will develop after a few more fights.

What my thoughts were on another thread:

Hats off to Cotto, let's not take anything away from him he put in a superb performance, he did things I didn't think he was quite capable of. He changed up his gameplan from the first fight perfectly to neutralise Margarito. So what did he do differently, well instead of backing up in straight lines and going to the ropes where Marg could hammer him he used lateral movement so he was much harder for Margarito to find. When Margarito did close the gap and force his way inside he stopped Margarito uppercuting him by doing several things. He closed the gap further and clinched, he threw hooks from angles, he sat on his punches more to stop Margarito pushing him back and stop him. Another thing he did was use the occasional headbutt coming off the ropes to take away Margarito's rythm. Brilliant strategy, well done to him and his trainer, they put in a master class.

From what i saw in the Foreman and Mayorga fights was Stewards typical style ruining Cotto's technique. Steward is busy training his main cash cows in the HW division and being HBO's puppet so This cuban trainer has done wonders.

Yeah due to a ****ing knee injury, and even then it took him until the 9th.

Seriously he was fighting completely wrong in his last two fights

Cotto was beating him effortlessly well before he tripped do you want me to post the fight here?

He didn't look good? he was in first gear all night and landed most of his punches without taking many in return.

He could have done better is what im trying to say, the style in which he fought in this fight was a lot better and he showed better stamina and technique.

Im a big Cotto fan but i was starting to think he was going stale until this fight, i knew it was just stewards doing

This time when he moved backwards...he didnt go back in straight lines...and whenever margacheato gone on top of him...he spun him round....or held...this is what cotto is all about....he should box more like this!

Stop hatin ***** , Pedro Diaz is a GREAT trainer and there's nothing "amateur" about the Cuban style of boxing , the point of the game is to hit and don't get hit back , to keep your oponent on his toes all the time and tire him that way , congrats to Cotto , he did a great job last night . Peace .
