I've never seen a fight judged that poorly in England. Granted: There have been one or two close fights where arguably the less deserving fighter got the nod, but nothing like last night, which was an entirely different level of 'corrupt'. Don't try and make out that they're equivalent; they're not.

Mckenzie's scoring was bad and the play-by-play guy called him out on it a few times during the fight. But, at the end of the day, Duke had Del winning (by one round), as did the Americans on Epix and also the Brits in the studio (who all had it wide).

America is just as bad -

Paul Williams (against Lara & Martinez 1)
Poor Lucas Mattyhes getting jobbed against Judah and Alexander
    Mike Jones against Sota Karras
    Broner against Ponce de Leon.

    etc etc etc

As a commentator Duke is a ****in' Moron. 'Twas a robbery of the highest order and like was said that big nosed bald ****er knew he had the decision in his pocket whatever played out in the ring. Farcical.

I watched the fight 10 meters away of the ring and while I do agree that Chisora should've gotten the decision, during first half of the fight Helenius landed a lot more than Chisora did. Chisora's punches were mostly blocked by Helenius's turtle defense. Between rounds 6-10 Chisora had 2 - 3 rounds where he was superior, but the last two rounds were pretty competitive again.

I have not seen the fight on video yet, but all the outrage about a 'Robbery' is pretty much exaggerated in my opinion since it was a very competitive fight between two good fighters and Chisora was the only one of the two that got stunned by opponent's punches during the fight at least 2 times. Helenius was never hurt by Chisora's attacks.

Therefore, calling this bout one of the worst robberies in recent time is pretty ridiculous in my opinion.

the fact that literally 92% of ESB feels Chisora won, i dont think its ridiculous to say its the worst robbery in recent time

Yes, it was a horrible robbery, but for once I'm not too upset about it:

If Helenius' hand wasn't broken, despite his appalling lack of defensive skills, he would have surely won by KO. - And Chisora, despite showing surprising offensive skills, will NEVER have KO power.

If Helenius improves his motivation & defense, hw could easily be HW champion. Chisorsa has zero chance.

So, would you really want a Chisora victory, given the sad state of the HW division? Yes, he clearly deserved the decision, but it would have been very bad for the fans, in the long run.

Most Finnish people in Hartwall arena felt that Chisora should've gotten the decision. It does not mean that this decision was near any of the worst robberies in boxing history. Home town decisions have been and will always be in professional boxing...
