Cotto won every round. If you gave Margo a round it was b/c he didn't get his ass beat as horribly as he did in the other rounds.
Rounds 3, 5 and 7 were clear tony rounds for me. A few other rounds were close. Round 9 was very close... The fact is the HBO team were basically being cheerleaders for Cotto, just like in the first fight! This was in no way, shape or form a shutout like these Margo-haters claim! Tony got cheated out of 3 rounds, he didnt want to quit. BS stoppage
Watch the fight again... Be fair and put it on mute! The fact is alot of people are convinced that Tony cheated in the first fight and these haters already filled out their scorecards before the fight even started.
All 3 were saying it was the same as the first fight. They werent giving Cotto any credit for the adjusments. It wasnt until about the 6th round when they realised Margarito had no shot in hell to win were they pro Cotto.
I'm with you on all of the Floyd opinions but when it comes to Marg/Cotto I'm neutral. My take on last nights fight is: Cotto was winning most of the rounds. 2 MAYBE 3 could have gone to Marg, but they were very close and gone either way. Cotto was schooling marg for the most part but Marg was coming on a bit the last couple rounds. I think he may have taken a couple of the final rounds but I don't believe he was going to KO cotto whatsoever. He wasn't hurting him like he did the 1st fight. Anytime Marg would land a hard clean shot, Cotto would come right back with a better shot. Marg is a scary man I will tell you that. He's a mean, mutherfuker. I do think he cheated before and do think he's full of lies, but he can take an ass whooping and smile while doing it.
Jim Lampley was pro Cotto in the 1st fight, he likes the guy. Last night he was so pro Cotto it made me sick.. In Jim's mind Tony is a cheater, If Miguel would of Knocked out Tony Via low blow it would of been ok with him. Manny has trained Cotto before so he is basically his friend! :verysad

To be honest I think I gave Margarito two rounds..... I didnt see a shutout like many did. for a round or so there I thought he was taking control of the fight and it was starting to fall right back into the second fight again, but then Cotto took back control and did good work in the 9th. The only thing the ref saved in that fight, was Cotto getting a more complete win (as we wouldnt have so many threads about the doc stopping it) Marg was on his way to a loss. It was still a hard fight for Cotto.... Margarito was putting in work.
