You do realize everyone ring side and the official judges had Cotto winning all but ONE round. Smh I don't know what's worse being a cheater or defending and following one. Smh.
yes it was. he beat him, whooped him, busted his face up, and basked in victory. It was worst than a KO, because the Doctor had to come in, fearing for margo's health and well being, and stop it. If he hit like a girl, margos head and body would not have moved back when he got hit. Cotto's punches moved him and he did get hurt, no matter what margo says. he just doesnt like cotto. in the first fight, cotto's punches didn't move margo at all. it was like he was walking through baby taps.
It was a bad stoppage because Tony was still fighting and he didnt seem affected by his eye being closed. They should never stop a fight due to 1 eye being closed, especially when that guy is Tony Margarito! He has said he's willing to die in the ring.. He has a rep for being tough. If anything wait for the ref to stop it, not the ****** ass doctor! :hat Of course that ***** is going to stop it, he probably would cry if he got slapped.. let alone punched repeatedly! :deal
The scorecards were already filled out before the fight! They're in MSG FFS.. Lamps, Manny and kellerman were wetting their panties everytime Cotto landed a jab. **** the scorecards.. Margarito won atleast 3 rounds, maybe 4 if you think he won the 9th!
To be honest "YES 3 or 4 rounds".. I tend to favor fighters that come forward. Cotto was boxing beautifully at times, I admit that.
Cotto won this fight and deserved it. But he will always have problems with Margarito type fighter. He moves back in straight lines to buy some time. His movement when in retreat is not that good, and against a tough mobile opponent who can take his punches Cotto struggles. Good fight with the right winner though.
Was he suspended for it?, is it any close to loading up gloves?, didn't DLH get robbed in that fight? Dumbass.
I think it's just the fact that Cotto fought a smart fight and very much in opposition to the first fight, he made use of good footwork and his legs ( circling and sometimes backpedalling yes but also coming on fast with power punches), using his superior skills and punch speed and just take Margo for what he is, a very big and tough guy yeah but a slow handed, always coming forward but basically a flat footed, standing still target, just like Shane and Pacquiao and even P Williams did. The rest has to do unfortunatelly with Margo's eye condition even coming to the fight - he is hit in that spot and there are precedents, the doctors have to do their job. Nothing to do with Margo having loaded gloves the last time in my personal opinion.
Im a huge Cotto fan and while the stoppage was a little weird (the ref asking the doctor repeatedly if they were stopping it) Cotto beat that ass from pillar to post. Margarito was nowhere near turning the tide, Cotto was beating his ass in the 9th and looked ready to go for another 3 rounds. I wish they would have let them finish, I think Cotto could have gotten a late stoppage.
