FFS this **** still going on?, Saved from what hurting his hands on Cheato's boat race.
Margarito is seriously a deluded character if he believed he was getting to Cotto and on verge of winning.

Except he will, because by creating this thread you've help them achieve what they wanted. It's a troll article designed to get clicks.

I love Miguel Cotto but to be honest, I don't really feel like it was a satisfactory conclusion.

I agree with the stoppage. Cotto was well ahead in the fight and Margarito's eye was only going to get worse but it somehow still doesn't quite feel right to me.

There were 3 rounds left in the fight. Against a pressure fighter like Antonio Margarito, that could have been a long 9 minutes for Miguel Cotto. But I guess we'll never know. Margarito wouldn't have been licensed to fight with that eye if he was anyone else, it was inevitably going to close and swell up again.

Margo was having very little success. If that was Margo's best round of the fight (which it wasn't), then he still lost it and took the hardest shots he had that night. Cotto was standing with him on the inside and getting leverage onto his punches.

He wasn't winning, he was blind in his right eye, Cotto was getting more hooks and jabs onto it. It was getting stopped in the next round. Conclusive enough for me.

Oh I agree. Cotto certainly wasn't saved, that definitely is a wind up. But it still doesn't quite feel right. Fights ending on cuts never do have a satisfactory finish to me but that's just my opinion.

    Saved by the doctor?

Cotto took Margarito to university on Saturday night.

Yes he may have been on his bike doing it but he wasn't on his bike all the time, he stood and let his hands go when he needed to.

  9. It was unsatisfactory to some degree but it was the right decision. Cotto could have quite comfortably boxed his way to the end of the fight. He was never gonna stop Marg but Marg had hardly landed a single punch on him all fight and was unlikely to for the remainder of the fight, especially with only one eye.

I get what you mean, but they'd given Margo a lot of time with a closed eye and he wasn't doing better. The only reason I felt it was anti-climatic was because I knew some people would claim it was unfair.

Im a Margarito fan mate and I have to disagree... Cotto was dominating this fight and fought a perfect gameplan ! it hurts me to say but the best man on the night won and maybe the Tijuana Tornado finally realised this eye will always be an issue from now on ... if Margarito retired I wouldnt be too sad to see this to be honest !

Yeah, they probably are, and this one probably fitted their criteria perfectly.

It would have been a even longer 9minutes for margarito. Usually I'd feel the same about a stoppage, that he could have continued but In this fight I just thought what the ****, they should stop the fight before margarito ends up blind. I hate margarito (like to watch him though) but unlike some of the ****s on the GF i don't want to see him go blind. The only thing the early stoppage prevented was margaritos eye becoming useless. Well done to them I say. Margarito is a dumbass that I genuinly think would lose his life in the ring before quiting. His eye will be in a far worse state now and if it's not going to heal properly then he needs to stop boxing.
