A 16 man tournament would never, ever work, even though it's a great idea on paper.

    A 16 man tournament?

Agree that it's a quality division though. Lots of really good even fights there.

  4. Wouldn't surprise me if we saw a Cotto vs Mosley rematch.

You left out wbf world champion Henry Coyle. But Alvarez to win. Strong division nowadays.

LMW is one of those divisions that needs the men seperating from the boys. There's some interesting match-ups to be made, will they get made though? :think

  7. Agreed, like 160 and HW.

I guess you could say that there are two 154's and 160's - a European division and the rest of the world division.

Not many have crossed the divide either way.

    Dzinziruk
    Mayorga
    Angulo
    Kirkland
    Williams

Agree with you on that mate. I suppose from a British point of view we've not got any world beaters at 154, and our 160 lbers have come up just short at World Level.

160 had been fairly interesting though recently with Barker, Macklin and Murray all getting their "shot."

Cotto will only take the fights if there's big money in them. Not a single guy at 154 outside of Alvarez (and even he isn't a big money fighter yet - give it another 12-18 months) is going to bring that sort of weight.

Also, no way GBP risks Alvarez, as is clear by his ****-weak opposition so far. Cotto, for his flaws and being slightly worn down, is still too skilled and capable to put its new golden boy in against.

Williams... **** that. He's done at the top level. Lara cleaned him out and got robbed.

4 man tournie would work. Would love to see Cotto unify and retire. I think Arum will keep it in house and move him up to 160 vs Chavez.

Think cotto's current contract with TR is up. as to whether hell sign a new one id doubt it what with the way bob has been with margo. Plus i think golden boy may want in because theres two fights to make for them floyd for his 154 title and a unification with alverez

after the margo fight he said arum is his promoter and that will always be the case. GBP will try to make it interesting for sure.

i would much rather see cotto vs alvarez then chavez. chavez needs to step up as he is destroying the credibility of the wbc 160 title. he needs to let martinez light him up, its the just thing to do.
