Lewis was 38 years old and out of shape in 2003. Was he in his prime? I guess you also believe that Evander Holyfield and Roy Jones belong to this era too right?

Well said. Heavyweight is the most boring division in boxing. Has nothing to with Americans not dominating.

Pacquiao is one of the most well known athletes period in the USA. 60,000 saw him in Texas against an unknown African. 1.5 million paid to see him fight Marquez for a third time even though most were calling it a mismatch.

The Klits and the rest of the heavies are just boring. If Eddie Chambers or one of the others got lucky and upset a Klit, they'd get press for a few days then nobody would care.

Even Lennox Lewis who was boring by American Heavyweight standards in comparison to warriors like Tyson, Holyfield and Bowe, still got some attraction.

If you're 6'5 240 you are playing football somewhere. Not boxing. America still dominates the lower weights and has the P4P best fighters in the world like Mayweather, Donaire, Ward, Hopkins ect because those guys are too little to play basketball or football. Thus they box.

    Fair post.

Although i still think Lewis technically did have a big hand in ending the US dominance, as have the Klitschko's.

If Eddie Chambers and co where successful champions do you think there would be any interest in the division?

Hell Wicky Atton had more fans then the Klitsckos in the states. I think the majority of American fans were rooting for ole Wicky to win that fight. Until the stupid Brits booed the national anthem. Then they turned to cheering for Mayweather. They're lucky I wasnt there. Definitely would have shattered some British glass that day.

So even a fat white Brit coke addict had more fans in America then the Klits.

People in America don't respect the craft of boxing like they used to.. Consequently, alot of American fighters are full of flash, and often times one-dimensional with no substance

Our best athletes don't box anymore...Eddie Chambers is the best American HW....and he's an average athlete at absolute best.

    Oh go **** yourself.

I'll match the top three American HWs of all-time and against three from any nation and any era and I'll still come out on top.
