Some observations from the Cotto-Margarito fight at MSG

Same **** for all races, all sports/teams. It's a matter of there being an unlimited amount of idiots out there.

 

The more we go foward in society it seems like we are actually just taking steps back. Im no floyd fan but i still remember british fans booing the us anthem during the hatton fight.

I hate anthems booers. I also hate ****s who use greater numbers to intimidate the minority....But to booing Margarito and Rios, I'd give them a pass.

 

Very honest post and I have to say that I agree with you. I've seen many things of us Puerto Ricans that I just can't stand but then imagine a Puerto Rican if the fight were to be in a Mexico stadium. Oh and I agree 100% on the misuse/destruction of the Spanish language by us it also annoys the **** out of me

 

Is that why margarito says he often doesnt understand cotto's spanish or was he just being a ***** trying to get under his skin?

 

Agree...but i'm sure if you flip that coin to the West coast that behavior will be about the same. Bro, its all ignorance....and a perfect display of who they are, but not all PR are like that.

 

Well there are obviously words that have different meanings to us Puerto Ricans or vice-versa but I personally think that Cotto doesn't misuse the language for a boxer like Tito, in the 24/7 Margarito clearly understood when Cotto spoke to him in spanish

 

Sorry about that man. A lot of ignorant people here in Puerto Rico (ignorant people everywhere but yeah). Stereotypically, nuyoricans are like the low class, ignorant ones and some people here don't even consider them Puerto Rican (which i don't agree) on. All in all i am sorry on your experience.

Yeah I agree, I was there also and that **** was just out of place, but you really cant control that...it actually happens everywhere where emotions are running high. But I agree, everybody's national anthem should be respected. There are POS that cant understand that though

i hate it as well. ignorance is what keeps us back as a people. i use to be a cop. i use to meet ignorant latinos all the time. blows my mind how dumb some people r. im dominican btw

 

Sports fan at sporting events + alcohol consumption = mob behavior, at least that's what I've witnessed in my personal experiences. It's unfortunate but not unexpected; so anytime you attend a live event, these sort of antics ought to assumed.

Sucks that you had a disparaging experience at what should have been a good time, bruh.
