That was Dibs style back then, he had spent a fair bit of time and rounds sparring with Prince Naseem in the UK, he tried to copy his style as much as he could, i seen a few of his pro bouts before we sparred and he would drop his hands down like that in a fight, he dont do that sht just in sparring! pretty awkward to deal with as he is very fckn slick, i found throwing punches in bunches worked a treat but he would rarely stand in one spot and trade with me.

For a Disgraceful spar we sure had a few people watching on ;) maby u could have done better?

Maby u can pass sound advice onto Dib then you moron lol

Im proud alright, according to you ive had 20 amateur fights, Dib has had over 100 amateur fights and had already a few pro bouts when we sparred. How do you explain his dancing skills? i call it running cause he would rarely stand and exchange, just fooling around so he didnt get hit and hurt, no power and he underestimated who he was sparring.

I sparred DIb and Shaw in the same year, Shaw would have torn Dib a new ******* but what they did is wait till SHaw retired, then gave him a phone call 2 weeks out of the fight to get it on, Shaw took the bait and the rest is history.

Dib wont hold onto that IBF title for long, id love to see your analogy of how he won the fight, they dont want it released because it was a disgrace, he tarnished the IBF title that night with his preformance, u want to see dancing with the stars just watch that fight lol

All over his facebook they got hightlights of him knocking the Italian out, all the crap b4 the fight claiming he will KO the guy blah blah, yet he couldnt do the same thing to a puncher he fought for the vacant IBF title? because if he did he would have got KTFO so he fights like a cat. He only talks it up when he gets bums he knows he can KO.

what were u saying JB? lol

TC a little while back I suggested that one big difference between us
is that " I know my limitations "

I didn't mean to imply that I was that limited. :hey

Typical Australian boxing mindset.... It's been proven that the best way to learn and improve skills is to use random, varied practice. Trying to perform in training is a waste of time and causes you to learn very slowly... Playing around and throwing different punches makes every different punch distinctive and therefore they get retained in the long term memory. Doing that causes poor performance during training but performing during training isn't the goal, improving is.
All these spastic Australian boxers pro and amateur trying to win sparring sessions... Look at how the Russians and Ukrainians train, all drills throwing different combinations.
Trying to win sparring causes limited fighters who can't adapt.
Throwing varied punches from different angles also slows your opponents reflexes as they have more possible stimuli to react to and they can't anticipate your movements.
Australian boxing is hands up, tough it out. Stupid boxing.

honestly guys it depends on who you are sparring, they are in essence like a dance partner so if they want to fck around its hard to have a diffrent mind set. I change up a few times from being seriouse to fckn around and so does he. Not so when i sparred Shaw, he is all bussiness no fckn around.

What do you disagree with? What I'm talking about has many studies to back it up and a lot of common sense behind it if you understand how the CNS works.
My acquisition of skill lecturer has worked at the AIS (which generally requires a PHD) as well as coaching a national team so she has a pretty good idea about what she's talking about.
Pick up the the book 'Motor learning and Performance' by Schmidt and Wrisberg. I think it should be a requirement for every coach to read that book from cover to cover before being allowed to train anyone. Repetitive training with a focus on performance in training is so common and so pointless when it comes to a sport with an open environment like boxing, it can be helpful for a beginner in the verbal-cognitive stage but that's it.
Random and varied practice is best, quality training is important.

In my old PCYC, we would go at each other life and death day in day out..

The boys who stuck around would be offered a Am fight after 6 months, the others were put in corner and told to do drills untill they got sick and left.
