I can't see a problem. Warr-en has put out highlights of that fight on DVD.

    Fighters, yeah I can understand.

But this guy was his mate.

I would have expected him to see him.

    I get your point though.

Even closer friends said they couldn't see McClellan until they hang up their gloves.

That wasn't aimed at you, mate. Just speaking generally, that's what happens with these sorts of rumours.

Just managed to watch Fight of Their Lives. Wow. So emotional, particularly when Benn and G Man met in 2007. The steroid claim was unfounded IMO. Personally I blame the incompetence of Stan Johnson& to a lesser extent, the French ref for not stopping the first in both the 1st and later when G Man was ****ed.

I'll admit, it brought a tear to my eye

Definitely, the consensus seems to be that they moved Gerald back to the US early against doctor's advice and if that played a part then it should have been explored in more detail. In fact, there is a lot that seems to have been glossed over and I thought it came across a bit like "Nigel Benn punched him in the face and NOW look at him, poor bloke". Some important details were missed or not emphasised properly IMO but I guess time constraints had a lot to do with that.

There's an extended version of the documentary next week on ITV4, I heard it on talksport today but forgot the date I'll try to find the exact date and time and post it later.

Roy Jones being 1 of them.

I think it's unfair to blame any1 entirely for what happened, even tho his trainer is an idiot. Think it's unfair to point criticism at Jim Watt aswell, it was the heat of the moment and wasn't to know what was to unfold

How long is the extended version?

  13. I don't think that bit was particularly well edited or fair. McGuigan was getting emotional and upset that people had said that McClellan had 'quit' and how bad it was of them to suggest such a thing, in hindsight. They then cut straight to Jim Watt defending himself for saying that McClellan had quit during the live commentary.

I'm sure McGuigan wasn't having a go at Jim Watt there but it sure did look like it the way they edited it.

  14. That was my problem with it too.

Some of it was well put together but other parts were pretty wishy washy and didn't give the full story.

I suppose highlighting the issue of flying back to America too early or the amount of weight cutting he did might not have gone down too well.

It certainly painted people in a different light to how I'd usually view them. Having read a biography of Tommy Hearns, a chapter of which covers the initial split with Emanuel Steward, and then watched last night's doco my views on him as a person have altered drastically.

People call Don King a robbing *******.....

One who I did feel sorry for was the referee.
