The local media go overkill on him.
Kewell has been shot for years and hasn't been the same since he was at Leeds.
During his Leeds days, he was phenomenal, and was one of the best left wingers in Europe. Injuries settled in during his Liverpool days, and his great performances were to few and far between. There were a dew great ones though, I do remember him tearing up Chelsea before being Injured in an FA cup semi.
The last great performance I remember from him was the 2nd leg game against uruguay. He was the difference and tore them up.

Nowadays he has lost his agility, pace and his ability to thread past defenders.
Who would you have as our beat ever Kegs?

    Who really cares

It is a sport played by countries who have no interest in real sports and want to watch 90 mins of a match for a nil nil draw

it is a secondary sport in sporting countries

    and

the main sport in countries that have no hope at real sports

Imo following football the last 15 to 20 yrs I would say that Viduka and Kewell were clearly our best outfield players. Kewell was just incredible in his time at Leeds United. He was exactly what the English national team have always wanted if he was English, a great left footed player down left midfield/attack. His career really stuttered after leaving Leeds due to injuries etc etc and he was never the same.

I don't know what other people think but I never liked Kewell at all.

Sorry Jim but thats a very very ignorant post by you. You are normally an exceptional poster on the board but you have let yourself down here big time.

Do you not consider countries like Brazil, Argentina, France, Germany, "sporting countries" or is it just because they don't play AFL or rugby league.

I never liked Kewell either mate...always preferred Viduka.:deal
Viduka did it the old fashioned way coming up from Melbourne Croatia, then off to Dinamo Zagreb, Celtic, & finally the EPL with Leeds, Middlesbrough & Newcastle. Topping the goalscoring charts in all those leagues bar the EPL.

I always wonder how Viduka would have fared in the Serie A, as he was linked to many of the clubs on occasions & definitely his style would have suited a much more slower technical brand of football.

    Secondary sport in sporting countries.

Sorry Jim, i didnt know most countries within Europe, Latin America, Asia & Africa are not sporting countries.
It is the world game for a reason.
