Martinez needs to stop chasing smaller opponents. Chavez and Alvarez would be good paydays for him. Lara would be a great challenge. Cotto is a welterweight.

Ducking a guy who, to an extent, is almost two weight divisions bigger than him, really is a bad thing, isn't it.

It's odd, because it wasn't that long ago that Cotto sounded like he had 1 foot out the door on his career, he seemed ready to retire. I like this.

I'd give Cotto alot of credit if he were to fight Martinez and would look forward to it. (SM by TKO btw.)However, I don't blame him for not accepting a fight either. Martinez is a solid MW now and Cotto is a small JMW. Same way I don't blame Pac or PBF for that matter.

Can't say I fault Martinez for going after these fights either. They are lucrative, legacy enhancing and winnable.

If Martinez went down to 154lbs, I think Cotto would beat him despite being the smaller man. His jab would dominate the fight.

Cotto vs Mayweather, hopefully. But it may very well be Cotto vs Pacquiao II. Cotto has a 100% success rate at winning rematches, so maybe this is the route he'll take.

Nice. I think he would like to try to avenge his other loss. It's an in-house fight for Top Rank, so it could happen.

As a Cotto fan, I would like to see it. As a boxing fan, I know Pac vs. May would be better for the sport.

I agree. I think size is the only real advantage Martinez has.

While i think Martinez is a good entertaining fighter, he has never fought a
fighter as well rounded or experienced as Cotto. Bring Maravilla down to 154, Cotto ducks nobody.
