Tim Bradley beat Lamount from the outside.... Khan will do the same in better fashion. Whay do you think Peterson will give him problems?

Maidana's "crudeness" or awkwardness played into his advantage in the Khan fight (It does against many opponents). His relentless swing for the fences is far more unorthodox than Rios' style which will be far more easily picked off by Khan without consequence because Rios seems flatter and less aggressive than Maidana. Maybe the weight was hurting Rios, though. I still think a puncher like Maidana would have been more troublesome to Khan than a in-fighting bull like Rios. Not that Rios is worse or better than Marcos.

The weight was killing him last fight. Rios puts on smarter pressure then maidana though.

i think this would be an excellent matchup... Rios has got more skills than Maidana but i think that Khan has steadily improved since that fight also.... should be a war... i'd favor Khan in this one but not by too much.

Khan would stop Rios as would Maidana.

When I look at it, look at Khan's last six opponent's

    Kotelnik
    Salita
    Malignaggi
    Maidana
    McCloskey
    Judah

Which one's gave him the toughest fight?

Kotelnik (He beat him fairly easily but it was still tough) and Maidana.

I feel Lamont's going to be able to judge and time Khan's punches. Obviously, it's not easy 'cos of how fast Amir is, but Lamont's not slow either. I think Lamont's going to wait on Amir and make him reach with them shots and come at the same time with his long shots.

One thing I picked up from a lot of video's Lamont's been saying is, he saw a flaw in Amir from the Prescott fight that still exists. I watched a video today where Anthony Peterson basically gave it away saying the left hook will stop Amir Khan late.

Now if you go back to the Prescott fight, the Kotelnik fight, the Malignaggi fight, the Maidana fight and the Judah fight, when Khan punches, he leaves himself open to the left hook.

All the opponents above caught him with that punch when Amir was punching, and I'm not sure whether Peterson really has the punch or the ability to capitalize on that, but that's a fundamental flaw that they've picked up on.

I think Amir's going to have a real tough time because Peterson will be looking to counter on everything Amir throws.

And I actually re-watched the Bradley-Peterson fight moments ago, again, and Bradley was on serious form. He was picking his shots and moving his head. Khan hasn't displayed that in abundance by any means.

I've done this with many Khan fights before, but I really am predicting a tough fight.

I with chatted with you before....and I must say you really stepped your boxing IQ up.

Peterson has a 25% chance imo. Khan can be walked into a left hook b/c of the way he throws and runs in but I'm not sure Peterson is the guy to do it.

Interesting fight, but I want to see him fight Bradley first.

Matthyse for me is the most underrated fighter 140-147.
I think Khan has enough skill to get past Rios and Mattyhse gives him a harder fight.

That's exactly the point. I think conventional pressure would be easier for Khan to handle than unorthodox awkwardness of Maidana. Maidana fights unlike anyone which can help him I think.

    Cheers.

I think Peterson can do it, it's just whether he can continuously do it with good effect to wins rounds. We'll see.

Do you really think this is the one where it goes wrong for Khan?
Very interesting and balanced posts.Real food for thought.
Where would Khan go after this if he lost? I really had him for a late stoppage but like I said, you've given me a lot to think about.
