For all Livra's haters, i don't mind the fella he just doesn't think or likes to be blunt with his posts which cause uproar.

 

Every time a celeb suicide case comes up the victim seems to always be accused of being bent though, wether it's true or not.

I actually knew Sutherland personally when he was an amatuer and I can see how he might have been gay just by his personality and mannerisms.

However, its all conjecture and just an opinion. I didn't know him very well just on a casual basis.

He was a lovely bloke by all accounts. He was a quiet guy really. I remember asking him if he watched much boxing on Sky every week and he said he only ever watched big fights. This was around 2004. He was the kind of guy who you would be surprised would have the bottle to be a fighter. Just a genuine nice guy, no mean streak i could sense. He hung around with a crowd of hip hop lads/girls who frequent clubs on hip hop nights and he always seemed to be on the periphery of the group, never really a proper part of the group but his long term girlfriend ended up leaving him for one of the lads in that group im told and having his kid which coinsided with his death a few weeks later, so that could well have had something to do with it but we are all speculating here, which is only human nature

 

Darren Sutherlands death would be an intresting read and should be turned into a book, I know I would buy it. I think you would be perfect to write about it.

 

i remember watching a documentary on you tube of an irish amateur boxing club and it followed 3 boxers over a couple of years, darren being one of them. it was very interesting to see how fragile his confidence was, even though he was the best boxer around at his weight.
great talent!

 

There always was the talk about the eye being injured by Russian really bothered him for some reason (mentally). Not sure what really upset him but it seemed to and i heard the cut eye in pro fight really got him down.

 

Wondered why i hadn't seen you on here that much mentioned it to Hairy. It's a extremely sad loss, I be honest the night it happened i went cold with shock when my dad rung me. I had to ask him if he got wrong person.

I liked Darren, he's missed no doubt..
