IMO he got a gift against Soto Karrass. The guy had Lujan in front of him with his hands down the whole time and didn't even hurt him. What are your thoughts?

Mike jones is cool but he should have pushed for it more vs lujan.
He will get his title shot vs bailey in march/april and most likely wins. Then we will see how he does vs a gy like berto, tim bradley or kell brook.

+1 I feel he got a gift against Soto and really hasnt impressed against what was suppose to be lesser comp to him but when you look at how the boxing world moves now what do you expect?????

Whether you think he got a gift or not, he came back and clearly beat him in the rematch. And he's looking better. Obviously improving, which should be expected.

Not hurtuing Lujan doesn't mean squat. Lujan got his ear almost torn off my Margarito, and that didn't stop Lujan going at all. So something to take into consideration.

LUjan was brought in for a specific reason. To give Jones an awkward style he hasn't seen, and also to give him tough, quality rounds. Mission accomplished.

I think he looks pretty good, however he's starting to remind me a bit of Wlad in this way. He's too damn careful after he gassed against Karrass and seeminly is afraid now to open up a can of whoop ass at will, hopefully I'm wrong. Wlad got boring to watch after his nut got cracked a couple times, same kind of thing. He's probably a really smart guy and can't seem to find it within himself to explode because he fears gassing out again and now he's all confused on when to and when not to and maybe never will. Who knows. Still a good fighter.

Yeah but dont you think that given stage Mike Jones should've pushed it more?...it doesnt matter how tough Lujan is, he was just standing there throwing sloppy punches and his guard down the whole time.

He is a China Chinned Hype Job disgrace. He has no Chin, he realizes this, and that's exactly why he refuses to engage beyond jabbing and potshotting at range.

    Hes pretty good I think

Learned and improved in the Karras rematch

then fought an awkward Lujan and won comfortably and if his chin is up to the test he can beat Bailey

my issue was Lujan ducked straight down face first but no uppercut from Jones plus he got hit way too much

I don't think he'd beat Berto or Ortiz, Bob should try to set him up with Mosley.
